Question: Will hiding in a cavern with stockpiled chocolate goods be any part of this plan?

Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned

A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Keith Richards joins the cast of PotC2.

Looking to save money on the skeletal special effects, are they?

"When I look at people that I would like to feel have been a mentor or an inspiring kind of archetype of what I'd love to see my career eventually be mentioned as a footnote for in the same paragraph, it would be, like, Bowie." ~Trent Reznor

He's playing Jack Sparrow's father. YEAH.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Looking to save money on the skeletal special effects, are they?

Bwah! My thought exactly: "Oh look, they won't need to use zombie makeup on Keith!"

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

We rented Dracula: Pages From a Virgin's Diary this weekend. I can't see how this wouldn't be a Buffista favorite (and it probably is). It's, uh, more or less Nosferatu (but not quite) as a ballet with extremes of goofy humor and powerful emotional displays. I'm not much of a fan of ballet or dance, but, y'know, this is a ballet about Dracula. With fleshpots and manly temptation.

Must. Own. This. MUST, I tell you!

(I wonder if there is anyplace I could buy it in time for this coming Saturday ...)

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I feel so dirty. I stayed home snotty today and watched HP1 and 2 today. It was the first time I have watched the movies after getting into HP fanfic...it was disturbing seeing the characters as children when they have been all but in my imagination. You would think this would be enough to make me feel like a dirty ole woman, but no.

My son wanted to snuggle and watch a movie after dinner - his choice - The Borrowers. This is another movie I have not watched in YEARS...and seeing that sweet cherubic face, I feel soooooooooooo dirty.

Draco, my dear Draco.

move out and draw fire

I really hate historical epics making all previous empires into America wannabes.

You know this is a true sign of a country feeling insecure, when it starts looking to history and claiming great moments for itself.

I found a movie theater I can get to here! It's showing Resident Evil 2 for $8.00 a ticket. I'm about that desperate.

Haven't seen The Grudge, but the sound in Ju-On really upped the creepy factor. Oddly, things that seem to be emphasized as scare points (like the hand coming out of the back of SMG's head in the previews) were not nearly as effective as some of the more subtle bits.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I saw The Sea Inside last night, and while I didn't enjoy it as much as Abre Los Ojos or The Others, it's still very, very good. Javier Bardem is phenomenal. I'm curious to see if it gets a wide enough release to attract controversy.

[spelling fixed]

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

I watched Star Trek: Nemesis over the weekend. I feel dirty, now.
