Jayne: Yeah, that was some pretty risky sittin' you did there. Wash: That's right, of course, 'cause they wouldn't arrest me if we got boarded, I'm just the pilot. I can always say I was flying the ship by accident.

Up with the sun

I want to see both Shaun of the Dead and The Forgotten. Will probably see Shaun first, i think I need a laugh.

Last night I watched Blue Car. My god, is that an annoying movie. It's one of those films where nothing good (or especially interesting) ever happens and no one ever smiles and you're supposed to say, "oooh, how true to life." And they killed the one interesting character for no particular reason halfway through themovie, too.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

Sweet mother of Moses, they're actually showing A Dirty Shame in Salt Lake. Those of you in the area, we're going to overrun Tuesday the 28th's 7:00 showing at the Tower Theater.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I can see that Infernal Affairs has opened in NY. Does anyone know when it'll reach LA?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Shaun of the Dead is damn fucking funny.

Conservative, n. A statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from the Liberal, who wishes to replace them with others. -Bierce

Now I have to get a region free DVD player and order Spaced from amazon UK. Damn the funny British and their zombie movies.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Saw Dirty Shame tonight, and I have to say I wasn't nearly as impressed as I expected to be. When Johnny Knoxville does a better acting job than the leads, you know something is wrong.

I have to give the previews credit for making me want to go see Seed of Chucky though. I'd seen an earlier trailer that made me want to avoid it like the plague, but today's implied that Jennifer Tilly is going to both voice the evil female doll and play herself as a victim. And the trailer ends with Chucky apparently driving Brittney Spears off the road to her fiery demise, with John Waters snapping a photo of it and saying, "God bless the little people!"

The studio sure knows how to make me want to see a picture.

I dunno - the "film within a film" premise kinda scares me.

I know I've been among those who've laughed at funny gaffes when movie titles are translated into foreign languages. But every once in a while, they get it just right.

I saw Donnie Darko - Director's Cut. Then I went back and read all the posts about it, as well as the explanation in Salon.

I actually wish I had seen it a second time before reading the explanation. Which is weird. 'Cuz a lot of the stuff I missed. But then, I was pretty much on the "he's really just psychotic" train through most of the movie - which many consider to be a better interpretation.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hey Jessica, Ethan is the "Hot Pick" review on rottentomatoes for Shaun of the Dead. Cool!
