Look, you got a little stabbed the other day. That's bound to make anyone a mite ornery.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Shaun of the Dead is damn fucking funny.

Conservative, n. A statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from the Liberal, who wishes to replace them with others. -Bierce

Now I have to get a region free DVD player and order Spaced from amazon UK. Damn the funny British and their zombie movies.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Saw Dirty Shame tonight, and I have to say I wasn't nearly as impressed as I expected to be. When Johnny Knoxville does a better acting job than the leads, you know something is wrong.

I have to give the previews credit for making me want to go see Seed of Chucky though. I'd seen an earlier trailer that made me want to avoid it like the plague, but today's implied that Jennifer Tilly is going to both voice the evil female doll and play herself as a victim. And the trailer ends with Chucky apparently driving Brittney Spears off the road to her fiery demise, with John Waters snapping a photo of it and saying, "God bless the little people!"

The studio sure knows how to make me want to see a picture.

I dunno - the "film within a film" premise kinda scares me.

I know I've been among those who've laughed at funny gaffes when movie titles are translated into foreign languages. But every once in a while, they get it just right.

I saw Donnie Darko - Director's Cut. Then I went back and read all the posts about it, as well as the explanation in Salon.

I actually wish I had seen it a second time before reading the explanation. Which is weird. 'Cuz a lot of the stuff I missed. But then, I was pretty much on the "he's really just psychotic" train through most of the movie - which many consider to be a better interpretation.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hey Jessica, Ethan is the "Hot Pick" review on rottentomatoes for Shaun of the Dead. Cool!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm trying to think of movies based on video games. I can think of:

  • Resident Evil (and series)
  • Mortal Kombat (and series)
  • Tomb Raider (and series)
  • Final Fantasy

Any other big ones out there?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Street Fighter, Super Mario Brothers, House of the Dead.

Oh, and let's not forget Double Dragon and Wing Commander (though that's a computer game). Also, there're Alone in the Dark and Silent Hill games in the works.

I totally missed House Of The Dead. Never even heard of it. But it has Tyron Leitso! Did you see it? Is it worth suffering through for his hotness? Does his ass ring?

eta: Double Dragon -- how could I forget the movie that insisted that Allyssa Milano could kick ass and Mark Dacascos was related to a Party Of Fiver?
