I mean, they can't do them like the book, but I really hope they aren't remotely like the ones in the first movie.
They won't be, on account of the head writer has never seen the first film. He has deliberately avoided doing so in order to make the look of the movie entirely his (and Dahl's, of course.)
Where did he grow up, Plato's Cave?
I've never seen it either, as far as I can recall.

Perhaps you've repressed it. It is a disturbing film.
Gene Wilder's best performance, with the possible exception of
Blazing Saddles.
I've never seen it either. I just could never imagine how they could successfully film that book, so I didn't bother.

I'd include The Producers with these two.
I'd include The Producers with these two.
I'd elevate
The Producers
well above those two, but then I am in deep and helpless thrall to
The Producers.
(eta: Not to speak ill of his performances in the other two, which are quite fine, but...
The Producers!
Like I said, thrall.)
Have you seen the musical? I wouldn't have believed it possible, but the stage version is even funnier than the movie.
Perhaps you've repressed it. It is a disturbing film.
True, but Roald Dahl was very unhappy with the film because he felt it wasn't dark
enough. Given the crew working on this one, I think they'll turn out a version Dahl would've approved of more.
