I kinda liked Riddick
I do want to see Sky Captain. I'm going out to St. Louis to visit my dad this weekend, so maybe I can coax him into seeing it. We are, after all, talking about a man who thinks that "Alien Resurrection" was the perfect movie to see on Thanksgiving morning.
I have no interest whatsoever to see Sky Captain. it just looks...cheesy.
It's nice to see Karl Urban getting lead roles, but, Karl, baby, don't you know that video-game movies are NEVER good for your career? (I don't care what Angelina Jolie says.)
...I think Karl is trying to be a latter day Kevin Bacon. Note his costar is The Rock.
If they have a fight scene together, I will forgive a lot.
I did see
Cradle 2 The Grave,
after all.
I'll at least need to see.
Husband's a big Doom fan. We'll be there.
I kinda liked Riddick, too. And I can't wait for Sky Captain. And I'll probably see the Urban-Rock thing, too. Sunday matinee, why not?
I did see Cradle 2 The Grave, after all.
Yeah but it did have Jet Li
and
Mark Dacascos. IJS
I will see anything with Dacascos in, sadly. Well, except Iron Chef.
Karl Urban and The Rock together might be a similar sized pull. I'm hugely skeptical of a movie based on a FPS game. Lucky I'm not that deep.
I'm hugely skeptical of a movie based on a FPS game.
Especially since the game made no pretence of being anything other than an excuse to shoot lots of zombies and demons. The plot was thinner than soggy rice paper but that didn't matter because the game was so damn fun.
Considering the quality of the Doom III graphics (and ignoring some of the game-play problems), I can't see how a Doom movie could possibly be more fun than playing the game. It'd be like watching over someone's shoulder while they played--iow, boring.
