Devil's Advocate was pretty cool, too.
But not so much for him as it was for Al Pacino's portrayal of Da Devil - one of the top Satanic performances in cinematic history, I'd say. Although I'm also fairly partial to De Niro's Louis Cypher from Angel Heart.
Johnny Mnemonic
is a favourite? Even guilty? How?

I liked the junkie dolphin. Also, Johnny/Keanu's collar was neat.

Anything with Rollins in it is a de facto guilty pleasure.
I'm looking at his IMDB entry, and I realise I would need a Jackass exemption for anyone I adore.
My theory on Keanu is that he can't act very well, but he (or his agent or whoever) is damn good at choosing projects.
I am very fond of Devil's Advocate.
I think Superman as strong but not big is an interesting take on it. It would make him blend much better as CK, and seem a lot more otherworld-ly in his abilities as Supes.
I agree it would be an interesting take -- but they're dealing with a franchise that doesn't seem to suffer interesting takes.
Just judging by the Elseworlds Supes I've read -- they really are not willing to jigger the American hero too much.
I quite agree, ita. I don't think people (in the broad, good ticket sales sense) will be very forgiving of the All-American Hero deviating too far from the traditional conception.
It would be quite iconic if the character was re-formed and accepted, and would probably say something about our broader cultural climate. But yeah, I doubt it would be.

Reports from ComicCon seem to indicate that Constantine will change your mind about the second part.
My last roommate in college and I are the only people we know who thought that Keanu was perfect in Dracula, because his character -- Jonathan Harker -- is *supposed* to be a wimpy dork.
We based that conclusion on repeated viewings of Nosferatu, for the record.
