Manchurian Candidate this evening, despite one of the worst, longest running headaches of my life. (ughamug)
Okay. If the
implants were so all-fired complex and stuff, why then, did their removal have no effect?
plus
when did the conversation containing the phrase 'kill us both' take place?
and if my headache wasn't making me queasy enough...and believe me, it is,
the incestyay was so, so, so creepy. Meryl pulled that off with extra special sauce.
And, I think her makeup was enhanced to make her look mondo-creepier right then.
The best parts? The soundtrack and Liev whom I only wish I could dream about being my sooper sekrit boyfriend.
Anybody have a blunt heavy object handy to knock me unconscious? Ascriptin has not helped, and my head is splitting.
I feel like I've got
an implant!
Beej--The chip in their shoulder was a tracking chip--like people put in pets. The implant is way the hell inside the brain.
I hope your head feels better soon.
As for the conversation you're missing, they cut away
after Raymond hands the phone to Ben. I assumed Raymond added onto the instructions there.
Thanks Robin. Me TOO. I'm not a headache gettin' gal and I simply have no coping skills for this. I'm even afraid to try and sleep because I'm pretty sure I'll be disappointed.
In re: MC--
See I thought that too about the tracking chip but a) they could still be tracked without it--the photos taken at the phone booth--b) the German fellow, whose presence (and absence) was not nearly explained enough, said that it was so much more.
Not enough of an issue to make the film less enjoyable...just a 'huh'.
Now I'm going to go watch a wee bit of my Netflixed Jason and the Argonauts because I remember really liking Angus McFadyn's cameo as Zeus.
This is me...needing distraction.
ita, that's it. I'd not put those two things together, but of course that would have been the case.
I think The Fountain was going to be Blanchett and Pitt, but Aranofsky (sp?) argued with Pitt and he left, and Blanchett got pregnant and left. Aranofsky got the movie going again by cutting out the big expensive sets (and Pitt leaving was probably quite a savings). So it is now being made for half the original budget, and with Jackman and Rachel Weisz starring.
According to reports in the Aussie press, ShPitt left to make
Troy
for more money. As a result of ShPitt's sudden departure, the film was cancelled. At around the same time,
Farscape
was cancelled, which left a lot of Aussie film technicians in dire straits. A few months later there was a public auction of some of the sets and props from the film-that-never-was-but-looks-to-be-again.
Since MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE came up again, I'll just chime in that ita's thought was exactly mine. When Shaw says
"I'm one of the bad guys", it's because he already knows he's going to use Ben as an assassain (and for his own suicide).
I was curious if someone had made that suposition too.
That was pretty much how I saw it, Frankenbuddha.
Did
Godsend
play in the theatres? I must have missed it. Because there's no way a movie with De Niro can go straight to video, right? But a De Niro movie coming out and me not noticing -- also unlikely. I'd have thought.
Did Godsend play in the theatres?
Yeah, for a few days. It was even a wide release.
It was even a wide release.
Wow. That's rough.
At least he has
Meet The Fockers
coming up.
