"Simon says" and that "Simon sees everything" and then Web (who obviously noticed that the security guy was named Simon) looked at the security camera and put 2 and 2 together.
I'll need to rewatch to hear what he actually said but, in the script, it was "Skyman says." With a look to the surveillance cameras.
maybe it was the end of the line, no other choices for the train.
Except that Rebecca tried to talk the killer out of getting off the train there.

Huh. I distinctly heard "Simon says," but maybe my ear was trained to hear that since we'd just learned the killer's name was Simon.
Here it is:
INT. UNDERGROUND SUBWAY STATION - ESCALATOR - CONTINUOUS
As Hoff, flanked by Paul, Danny and other law enforcement types, ascend on the escalator.
GARETH HOFF
Skyman says. Skyman says.
DANNY
So that gonna be the defense, Gareth? Man in the sky told you to hurt those ladies?
GARETH HOFF
I’m sorry, I’m sorry.
DANNY
Well, it was the sky man’s fault.
GARETH HOFF
Skyman says follow the pretty ladies. Show me. Skyman can see. He can see. He’s watching.
His eyes shift up. Paul follows his gaze. They’re passing under a SECURITY CAMERA. Paul reacts to that.
I liked it - more than I thought I would considering I can't watch CSI et. al because of the gore. LOVED Peter Coyote/Web - the BF said he wished the show was all about Web, and I kind of agreed at first - but Tim's comments about the fight for Rebecca's soul pinged me but good.
I don't love it (yet) - but there were a lot of things I really liked, I enjoyed watching it a great deal, and I am excited to see the next episode. I do like it more than I liked Firefly after "The Train Job" - but I think I would have liked FF more if I saw the pilot first.
The lighting/cinematography in general was beautiful - very
X-Files/Millennium
-ish (even more so than
Angel
-ish I think. The blipverts were the only stylistic thing that made me think of
Angel
). The music at one point reminded me a LOT of
Millennium.
(I never really got into that show because it was just too depressing, and while I like Lance Hendriksen, Frank was very boring to me as a character. But I always thought it had a beautiful style.) And Mel is very Scully-ish to me.
And Mel is very Scully-ish to me.
Yes, yes, yes!
Calli, I agree re: Web = CSM. I saw that as I was watching; someone (Danny? Paul?) wanted to know something about Web's history and if I'd been playing MST3K my comment totally would've been "Well I used to be CSM..."
I just played his scene. It is "Skyman."
I have a question about the ending of the episode -- how does everyone know where to go, and get there in time? Web and Paul show up pretty handily, but the baddie didn't need to get off there, did he? How was Danny to get from one station to the next in time to meet the same train?
They've been studying the Jack Bauer method.
And then Paul and Web both end up at the right station - maybe it was the end of the line, no other choices for the train. yeah, that works. (as long as you don't actually know the LA subway system).
Maybe if they hadn't have gotten off there, Web would have gotten on the train?
