I have a question about the ending of the episode
I wondered about the same thing, then decided that I didn't need to care. It wasn't like her fate was ever in question anyway. Okay, but the other thing I wondered about was how Web figured out who the perp was. And why the audience was left out of the loop--or were there enough clues earlier in the episode to piece it together for oneself?
I thought that the patsy said something about "Simon says" and that "Simon sees everything" and then Web (who obviously noticed that the security guy was named Simon) looked at the security camera and put 2 and 2 together.
sumi is correct.
But Web had already put her on the train that didn't go to LAX. So he must have been sure he didn't have the right (or only) guy. Or else he's a pointless prick, which'd surprise me.

That's how Paul figured it out, isn't it? But Web must have known before that, to do the whole charade of firing Rebecca and putting her on a train that didn't actually go to the airport. I may be remembering wrong, but wasn't the firing of Rebecca before all the "Simon says" stuff? (or at least during).
And then Paul and Web both end up at the right station - maybe it was the end of the line, no other choices for the train. yeah, that works. (as long as you don't actually know the LA subway system).
I'm starting to think that Web figured out that someone in the control room was the killer. Simon told Rebecca that Web was going on and on about the killer. It's possible that Web is good at reading people and was watching everyone in the control center. He probably figured it was Simon just before or right around the time the hooded guy showed up.

I'll need to rewatch to hear what he actually said but, in the script, it was "Skyman says." With a look to the surveillance cameras.

Except that Rebecca tried to talk the killer out of getting off the train there.

Huh. I distinctly heard "Simon says," but maybe my ear was trained to hear that since we'd just learned the killer's name was Simon.
Here it is:
INT. UNDERGROUND SUBWAY STATION - ESCALATOR - CONTINUOUS
As Hoff, flanked by Paul, Danny and other law enforcement types, ascend on the escalator.
GARETH HOFF
Skyman says. Skyman says.
DANNY
So that gonna be the defense, Gareth? Man in the sky told you to hurt those ladies?
GARETH HOFF
I’m sorry, I’m sorry.
DANNY
Well, it was the sky man’s fault.
GARETH HOFF
Skyman says follow the pretty ladies. Show me. Skyman can see. He can see. He’s watching.
His eyes shift up. Paul follows his gaze. They’re passing under a SECURITY CAMERA. Paul reacts to that.
