I love Bitch. That is all.
The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

They're going to show "Firefly" in Israel! In a distribution larger than "Nilly lends Jon-and-Fiona's tapes and later her shiny DVDs to anybody she trusts enough with them", I mean! In, like, a real channel with real subtitles in an actual Israeli TV schedule that will be in the papers!
They started translating it and everything! And the translator doesn't know what to do with "shiny" (he posted on an Israeli TV site, that's where I saw it - it's the same person who makes the subtitles for AtS). And they're making him translate the Chinese, too. And, apparently, they'll show the episodes in order, and include the unaired-in-the-USA ones.
It's going to be on a plus package for a cable package, which means that you have to not only pay for cables (which, for example, I can't afford), but also to add a sum for that special package. But still, people here will be able to watch it (I will probably be completely horrible to be around, recommending to everybody and the like), and to talk about it, and I think it increases the chances of the movie to get here, significanly (don't spoil my hopes with realism and facts, please). Yay!
[Edited to apologize for the embarrassing abuse of the exclamation point. I have no excuse other than my genuine joy at the news]

What more excuse do you need?
What more excuse do you need?
For punctuation-abuse? Among Buffistas?
[Edit: In second thought, you're right - the one thing that could work is enthusiasm about a Jossverse show.]
In rare occasions, fervent exclamation point use is warranted, Nilly. I'd say punctuate away, dear!

Thanks, Lilty. Also, I probably should have posted this in the "Firefly" thread. Or UnAmerican. Hmm. Silly brain.
I couldn't sleep last night, so I watched Serenity and The Train Job. Nodded off at the end, right around the part where Adam says it'll be "an interesting day" when the money is good enough to turn on Mal.
Which reminded me that it'll be an interesting day when Tim admits I'm right and he's wrong.
I'm so stoked about Firefly in Israel.
Allyson is with me! Yay!
You know how it's like, when you have a movie on tape, and still you can't not watch when it's on TV, even when you know you can put the tape inside the VCR at any given moment and watch it? That's like what I feel now, only without the actual showing of anything yet. It's the preview of that.
Firefly in Israel? What fantastic news!
Looks around for exclamation points to abuse.
Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Found a few spare e's too. Let's hear it for the most prevalent vowel in the English language!!!
Which reminded me that it'll be an interesting day when Tim admits I'm right and he's wrong.
About what?
Did the Israeli subtitler understands that the definition of "Shiny" as used on Firefly was made up? Why not simply use the equivilent Hebrew word?
