Bwah! I do seem to remember Kidman—who said "the Duke" like 90% of all the times it was said in the movie—pronouncing it in a reedy squeal that seemed to have a couple of j's and an h.
She went overboard, I'll admit, but I've been told a few times that the u in "duke" and "suit" should be pronounced as an almost-dipthong. Like how Ewan said it.
I still want marzipan.
Speaking of cake, I came to the office today to discover that a co-worker brought some. For no particular reason. Wheee!
I was going to say:
It was more along the lines of "you've always had a gift for killing your characters, how hard was it not to kill anyone on Wonderfalls, and if the series had continued, who would've been the first to go?" Only she said it better than that.
Also a good question.
Then Tim posted and there was a cake discussion. Now I'll say instead:
Damn. I missed Tim and the cake discussion. I have got to get the internet working on my home computer. Is anyone out there a Linux guru who can magically let me know how to get the modem to work with Linspire or Knoppix? Or, alternatively, does anyone out there have any idea how I can magically get $50 more per month so that I can afford cable internet?
I just saw this as a .sig line on a list I'm on and felt the need to share:
The TV business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs.
There's also a negative side.

I forget who took it, found it at the Firefly board.
Aw. He's giving the sign for "curve ball, little to the left."
No way. It's definately to the right.
Strangely enough, right was my original choice.
