mostly because I know far too many people that are like "Buffy is stupid, Charmed is great!"
Heh. I feel like all I ever hear is "Charmed? How can you watch that insult to women/your intelligence/Holly Marie Combs' career? Buffy is SO MUCH better!" Which is so obvious it's not even really a question, but a)not all TV needs to be great and b)I watch so little TV I get irrationally defensive about the little I do watch. (Seriously -- I think Charmed is the only show I watch regularly right now. There's a bunch of stuff I keep meaning to watch, but meaning to watch does not always, or even usually, translate to "Remembering when it is on and turning the TV on at that time every week" for me.)
I used to watch Charmed fairly regularly, but then they fired Shannen Doherty and Julian McMahon took his chest to Nip/Tuck. Sad to say, I completely forgot about Charisma's guest turn last night, which may have been a blessing in disguise upon hearing the reviews.
If it's any consolation, LJ, I watch
Charmed
every week too. I wouldn't say I'm a fan, so much as a Constant Viewer who just can't seem to break free.
And I thought Julian McMahon was easily the best actor on the show when he was on. It's no surprise to me that he's going to be BIG.
Well, Matt already said what I was going to re: Julian McMahon. I'll watch any repeat of Charmed if there's a chance he might show up on it.
He was really good on Profiler, which is why I started watching Nip/Tuck. He's a good actor. And pretty.
If I may just chime in on the earlier Angel/Angelus discussion...To me, one of the main points of the Angel character on Buffy and later on Angel was that the evil and the good really are one person. We all have a demon inside, and how we handle it is the true test of our character.
Caught up on
Charmed.
CC looked good, but they're trying to make the character too similar to (early) Cordelia, I thought.
I'm a regular watcher of
Charmed.
It's part of my stable of shows that are entertaining enough to watch while exercising but not so involving as to make me get off the bike so I can concentrate.

Well, she *is* a demon...
The character of Cordelia went through so many permutations, I think we might be saying "reminds me of _______ Cordelia" for a long time.
I didn't get that sense when she was on
Miss Match.
t shrug
If i recall, she played a nicely rounded character on Miss Match. She was more of a real-world version of early Cordy, only grown up and realizing she may come off as pushy, but not really meaning to.
