What whitefont rules would make those of us who are staying out of the threads for spoilage reasons happier?
None that I can think of. Back when I had more online time I did my TV talk back at WX, because it was one thread per show, pretty much. Easy as pie, even though you couldn't subscribe individually.
That's
my optimum setup, I just don't think we have the tech or perhaps even the volume to sustain it.
Anything else is unwieldy, as far as I can tell.
I'd certainly propose (or second, or whatever) keeping Non-Fiction open. There's multiple new reality shows starting up by the end of May, and I like the energy in the thread. I think it should keep going.
I'm proposing we keep them open.
If the proposal stated they'd be closed, there's a moratorium, isn't there, on when you can modify it?
If the threads are going to be closed down after the end of the experiment, then I'm proposing we keep them open. If someone has a counter-proposal for a specific show thread or a variant, I think it's time to propose.
Please don't do that. The whole point of the proposal was that it was temporary. If you like them as is, when the experiment is done (June 1) you can propose we open regular (non-experimental threads).
As much as I'm having a good time with the experiment, I think that flies in the face of the purpose. I'm not even sure it's something we should allow, because of our moratorium rules. But mostly, it just feels wrong.
If you like them as is, when the experiment is done (June 1) you can propose we open regular (non-experimental threads).
OK, I formally propose regular, non-experimental threads, possibly with the same divisions, possibly with changed white font rules, with the possibility of proposing break-out threads for shows that are overwhelming the discussions. Said threads to appear when the experimental threads expire.
No, please. After. Propose whatever after June 1.
I'm fine with not keeping them open, so long as we're not moratorium-precluded from proposing non-experimental versions of some of these threads, particularly a reality show thread of some kind. I've grown rather fond of that thread.
Why wait? We know the experiment will end, we know the threads will close. Why not have everything done--the discussion, the voting--so that the next phase is in place?
I think we're moratorium-precluded from futching with the experimental threads. I think they have to close.
After June 1, I think people are free to propose what they want. I would hope to see something more refined than four buckets. I think we're starting to get an idea of what's working for us, but that's up to the proposers.
If it's a question of gathering more data and waiting for the formal end of the experiment, are there actually expected to be any new developments that will change the opinions that have evolved thus far?
