What our rituals will be

Generally voting is involved . . . though if anything could be carried by acclimation, I'd think this sort of thing would be.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It might also be a nice thing for Kimi to be able to read through when/if she wishes.

In my morbid moments, I've thought: "If I died now, Emmett wouldn't know much of the adult me. It'd be nice if he could find some of that among my Buffista threads. There's a lot of me here."

We could have a Gus COMM deathmatch uh...battle royale and vote on our favorite Gus quote.

Sorry, I really don't intend any disrespect. But if anybody had a dark sense of humor it was Gus.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I think a special thread would be better. I, also, second.

Not that my vote is needed, but I third. Everyone mourns in his or her own way, and I'm sure that there are those who would rather have a specific place to go or to avoid as we each work through our feelings.

I think some sort of waking thread might be a good idea. Gus is the first (to my knowledge) Buffista we've lost. And as Hec said, even though we might wish otherwise, we may have need of one again in the future.

I don't know what a thread to that effect might look like, but I think we should maybe have one.

Encomiums. Toasts. COMMs. Remembrances. I wasn't kidding about the battle royale. That'd be fun. Fuck, I'd feel entirely complimented in the afterlife if you had a Hecliments death match after I am demised.

I think open it for a specific time and date. Give everybody a chance to search the archives for favorite encounters and conversations. Leave it open for three days or so. A proper roaring wake. Then save it in the archive until such time...

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I think a wake thread is a great idea. I've been getting all teary-eyed over the various posts in Bitches, Natter, and Goodbye-Good Riddance, but I'd like to have a more formal place to do it. One to go back to and find it all in one place.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Me too, Sail. I was always happy to see Gus posting and would love to share memories with everyone.

David, I hate like hell that we need such a thread, but it's a splendid idea, and I'm all for it.
