Actually not needing validation right now, but thank you.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Done.

Swouncing

Following Laura's request, I posted in "my" town the links to the pictures of the F2F that people have posted - if there's any problem with that, just let me know, and I'll edit/delete.

If I only had a brain...

Stompies, could you open the Voting Discussion thread for "What do I watch next"? Thanks.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Stompies, could you open the Voting Discussion thread for "What do I watch next"? Thanks.

Done.

Betsy, are you offically taking the proposal off the table? Should the thread be closed?

If I only had a brain...

Yup. I officially withdraw the proposal.

What is even happening?

Before we move on to proposing a gen'l TV thread or not, can we just have a discussion here, about our TV stuff, like

a) what are you watching/what do you plan to watch?

b) of those shows, which ones would you like a thread for?

c) should we keep our TV focus to sci-fi/fantasy, or just go where the watching is?

It may be that some shows don't need their own thread, just because of the kind of discussion they inspire. For instance, for me, I don't really care about having a thread for anything that doesn't have a serial element.

This discussion could hopefully serve the same purpose that Betsy's withdrawn proposal would have served, had it gone to vote and passed. But I don't know that it needs a thread, as much as we need to have the discussion, and it needs to happen in one spot.

...

My stuff: I wouldn't mind a thread for either 24 or JoA, but I'm not sure if there's enough of an exisiting audience (made up of people who want to post about the show), for either one, to support it.

From Lightbulb:

Out of curiosity, am I the only one who thinks Boxed Set doesn't work very much for them as a user?

No, although it sounds like it's for different reasons than yours -- I stopped reading boxed set when the SV discussion devolved into nothing but "this show sucks", because the other shows discussed there don't interest me.

Just to put in my two cents, I also unsubbed from Boxed Set because I had no interest in discussing Farscape or SG1 and I found the SV discussion few and far between (probably because the former two shows are richer in depth, but I wouldn't know, not having watched them). I regret the loss of the SV thread since it was fun to pop in and snark. Then again, board not called Smallistas so it's not the biggest deal.

IOW, if we're just taking an informal poll Boxed Set doesn't work for me as a user either.

Don't you think that discussion more properly belongs ... well .. not here? You can make a proposal for a general TV thread and then have a finitely time-bounded discussion in Lightbulbs on those very topics.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I unsubbed from Box Set because I don't watch Smallville or Stargate, and there's not enough Farscape discussion to make it worth my while. (I may re-sub when the miniseries airs.)

I like having general television natter in natter, where it is now. I'm not sure a general TV thread would "work" for me, for a number of reasons.

This discussion could hopefully serve the same purpose that Betsy's withdrawn proposal would have served, had it gone to vote and passed. But I don't know that it needs a thread, as much as we need to have the discussion, and it needs to happen in one spot.

Buy why should it be in here? If we're NOT talking about creating a new thread, what makes this not natter?
