Our wings are not tired.

Some discretion would be nice. I have asked questions when I was having issues in technology and have back channeled on the subject. It doesn't feel like our policy should Pirates R Us. Don't know what solution to suggest. A polite reminder that such activities are not endorsed by the board?

eta: I don't think the discussion was directed at you specifically P-C, but the trend in that thread in general, but go you with the cute edit.

I just don't want us to be such a clear vehicle for something that's undoubtedly illegal.

Ah. Good point. I think my desire to see the eps eclipsed my caution alarms. Is it just the direct links that are at issue, or is it best not to post even written out URLs to avail. dls posted (or the torrent thingy that someone else posted in Minearverse)?

(Edited to take out reference to "people" which might be easily confused with "The Secret Cabal," which was not my intention and just never ends well.)

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I also agree. It's one thing to point someone to a torrent site. It's another to actually link the torrent. The last thing we need is a C&D letter, or worse.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

in agreement with ita/DX.

A polite reminder that such activities are not endorsed by the board?

this would be good.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Agree as well. It was sort of freaking me out a little bit.

ETA: Not that anyone needed my concurrence. It occured to me when Kristen linked up scripts, and I got an e from Simon saying that they'd not link on Whedonesque to protect Kristen.

Whedonesque doesn't allow torrent links for the same reason.

I think admins should be able to delete torrent links with a note: Torrent links aren't allowed. Go backchannel, my friend.

Or you know, something actually cool.

How's this:

Polite Stompy Request:

Could folks please not post torrents or direct links to torrents for copyrighted materials in the threads on this site? It's not that we want to stifle access to the episodes that weren't broadcast in the States, but we don't want the board to be a vehicle for something that is undoubtedly illegal. We are not a torrent site, and have no intention to become one.

If you want to discuss the availability of torrents for specific episodes, that's fine. However, if you want to provide someone with a link to the torrent or the torrent itself, we ask that you do it back channel.

And DX comes in with the cool.
