A polite reminder that such activities are not endorsed by the board?
this would be good.
'The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco'
A thread to discuss naming threads, board policy, new thread suggestions, and anything else that has to do with board administration and maintenance. Guaranteed to include lively debate and polls. Natter discouraged, but not deleted.

Agree as well. It was sort of freaking me out a little bit.
ETA: Not that anyone needed my concurrence. It occured to me when Kristen linked up scripts, and I got an e from Simon saying that they'd not link on Whedonesque to protect Kristen.
Whedonesque doesn't allow torrent links for the same reason.
I think admins should be able to delete torrent links with a note: Torrent links aren't allowed. Go backchannel, my friend.
Or you know, something actually cool.
How's this:
Polite Stompy Request:
Could folks please not post torrents or direct links to torrents for copyrighted materials in the threads on this site? It's not that we want to stifle access to the episodes that weren't broadcast in the States, but we don't want the board to be a vehicle for something that is undoubtedly illegal. We are not a torrent site, and have no intention to become one.
If you want to discuss the availability of torrents for specific episodes, that's fine. However, if you want to provide someone with a link to the torrent or the torrent itself, we ask that you do it back channel.
And DX comes in with the cool.
Sounds good.
Okey doke. I'll go be the bad guy...
Awesome, DX.
I am glad this was discussed, and I like DX's post. Honestly, I'd even like a little less advice and more distance from the whole activity in the last bit. DX, what do you think about changing:
However, if you want to provide someone with a link to the torrent or the torrent itself, we ask that you do it back channel.
to something like:
However, do not provide someone with a link to the torrent or the torrent itself, on any part of buffistas.org.

I agree with Cindy. Stronger wording is better.
Well, that's pretty much what I requested in the first paragraph. If it continues, we can become more emphatic.
