I'm so sorry, but if it makes you feel any better, my fun-time-Buffy party night involved watching a robot throw Spike through a window, so if you want to trade... no wait, I wouldn't give up that memory for anything.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It'd change the way I interact in that thread if I thought a debate about the differences between men and women became fodder for Whedonesque linkage.

But it is. The non-googlability is no protection at all, from anyone. Everyone with a net connection can see it and link to it and all that jazz. Being unsearchable makes it a wee bit harder to stumble on, but we can't mistake that for any sort of privacy.

It's nice that we haven't been linked to directly recently by Whedonesque posters. But all it is is nice.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I guess I'm having nightmares of Herc at AICN linking to us after seeing it at Whedonesque and then having an assload of talkback shitheads pouring into Minearverse acting like fools.

ETA: No, we haven't tested a Whedonesque hit on the new server.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wonderfalls news was breaking here, and we did just fine. It's just the risk we run from being so awesome.

So I'm being needlessly overprotective?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'd say futilely instead of needlessly.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just don't think there's anything we can do, really, but also not much to worry about.

In terms of server, Jesse? Because that was the biggest worry.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't really know anything about potential server issues, but if people started going insane and breaking stuff, we could just shut down for a day or two, right? I mean, worst-case scenario.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I guess I'm having nightmares of Herc at AICN linking to us after seeing it at Whedonesque and then having an assload of talkback shitheads pouring into Minearverse acting like fools.

I was going to say -- even if we could do anything about it, hasn't this already happened once or twice (on a small scale)? And isn't Minearverse newbie spillover our biggest source of new blood in the past 2 years?

If Tim or Joss or any user doesn't know that this is a public and quoteable space, maybe someone can find a video file of that TV Guide Channel news bit that mentioned us by name (when Firefly was cancelled) as a news source. Cause, I don't expect any influx bigger or more surprising than that one.

No need for the admonishment, Nutty. I am aware of how the internets work.

I would offer that public and quotable is on a nuclear scale when posted at Whedonesque, compared to say, a Livejournal.

My opinion on this, I realize, is colored by biases developed at the Bronze, an irrational sense of protectiveness.
