Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If someone does this, and it's rude, our normal procedure still works.

I suppose it's possible that people will do it, insisting it's not rude, but that's why we have been loose in the discuss-warn-ban scenario.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

"Ok, that's it, I'm off to Fight Club" to use the most recent one, which I do find slightly less...clique-ish a term, I guess than Marcie.

If that was from me, it was Flight Club. Kind of the opposite of Fight Club.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

If that was from me, it was Flight Club. Kind of the opposite of Fight Club.

Ooooh. I get it now. That's pretty clever.

Swouncing

If someone does this, and it's rude, our normal procedure still works.

That's what I've been trying to say but got entangled in my words.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

I'm just worried my smart-assedness will get me Stompied.

'cause there will come a time when I'm punch-drunk and giddy and will scream in jest at Sean "That's it, motherfucker! FILTERED! Woh-pah!"

But it will be in jest. I never intended to announce who I would filter, if I choose to filter anyone.

Our wings are not tired

MM's concern is mine. We have a pretty active and at times acerbic sense of humor around here. I'm now afraid that I'll say, in jest, something along the lines of "Hey MM, don't make me filter your ass!" and this will get me an automatic smackdown.

It's about context here folks. I reallly, really, really don't want to feel like I'm looking over my shoulder on every joke. I think that making an automatic warning out of this is the first step down a very slippery slope.

DXMachina - May 10, 2004 11:10:32 am PDT #592 of 10001
You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

We wouldn't stomp you for that, MM. We'd just stomp you 'cause it's fun...

(Fair's fair. I'm never going to be allowed to use "Talk to the Filter," either.)

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Yes, this.

Because me? I know damn well I'd make filter jokes at, say, Seany. Even though, y'know, I can't ACTUAL filter anyone.

"That's it, boy-o. Imma gonna FILTER your ass via proxy!" could, in theory, come out of my fingers.

And this is exactly why you must be stopped. Because now I have a disturbing visual of your fingers filtering Sean's ass. And from there the next step is bound to be Henry Kissinger's ass. There's no way this can end well. It's a slippery ass slope indeed.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I think that making an automatic warning out of this is the first step down a very slippery slope.

I agree with this, but with the direction that the conversation is going, I think it should be underlined that taunting someone with the filter may be demonlike behavior. Context is critical.
