One option, which I'm not sure I like but I'll throw it out there, is to have all movie discussion in the FF Spoilers thread. Given that there won't be any new spoilers until and if a sequel gets underway, the FF Spoilers thread will be otherwise purposeless.
It seems to me that's the most workable, Jon. If enough other people feel the same way, we'd want to update the thread descriptions, and maybe the slugs, so anyone new who is looking for film talk doesn't accidentally nuke the regular FF thread with a HSQ spoiler.
I'd suggest no spoilery film talk, not even whitefonted, in the main FF thread.
For how long? A couple months?
Is the film being released world-wide at the same time? That is, will people like Nilly, billytea, and Madrigal be able to see it soon? What about the UK Buffistas? Continental Buffistas?
Release Info. It premiered in the UK a month ago.
However, having a show thread be NAFDA is SOP.
Is there a particular reason not to make the thread blackfont and just expect people who don't want to be spoiled unsub until they've seen it, as with aired tv?
Well, I mean, because ...
Okay, I got nothing.
Makes sense. There may be a sense of dislocation for people who want to talk about going to see the movie (as opposed to having seen it), but it does make sense.
How about, as a compromise for the main FF thread, two weeks of no spoilery movie talk, and then all-black-font-anything-goes?
For those two weeks, movie talk goes in the spoiler thread.
two weeks of no spoilery movie talk, and then all-black-font-anything-goes?
Two weeks after US release or two weeks after international release? I've seen the movie, so don't really mind one way or the other, but if I hadn't, I might. I unsubbed from Spoilers until I'd seen it, but I still wanted to talk about the show, so it was nice to have the main thread to do that.
For clarity, let's say Blackfont beginning on Oct. 17. Nothing in the main thread prior to that date. That gives (most) folks two or three weekends to see it.
