two weeks of no spoilery movie talk, and then all-black-font-anything-goes?
Two weeks after US release or two weeks after international release? I've seen the movie, so don't really mind one way or the other, but if I hadn't, I might. I unsubbed from Spoilers until I'd seen it, but I still wanted to talk about the show, so it was nice to have the main thread to do that.
For clarity, let's say Blackfont beginning on Oct. 17. Nothing in the main thread prior to that date. That gives (most) folks two or three weekends to see it.
There isn't one date for the international release -- an arbitrary date like Jon suggests looks like a good idea.

This sounds good to me. Nothing's going to be perfect, and we have had NAFDA rules in place for a while. We whitefonted in the LOTR threads until at least two weeks after the movies came out, right? And if we'd bothered to create a LOTR spoilers thread, the above probably would have been the course.
I'm way behind in the main FF thread. Can someone post that we're having this discussion here?

Nilly, if/when you come around, does the above mean you'll be able to see it soonish?

I think all the Firefly discussion should be in Firefly. That's impossible, but I think the movie talk should be in there sooner rather than later (or never, which is what Cindy's suggestion looks like).
Then you're repurposing two threads instead of one.Not really. The Firefly thread was created for the TV series. Spoilers has been the de facto movie thread for a while.
(or never, which is what Cindy's suggestion looks like).That's only because I was trying to keep it simple and consensible. My complete thought process was something like this:
1) Repurpose "FF Spoilers" to be the "Serenity" thread.
2) Keep FF as the FF TV series thread.
3) Once all Buffistas who care have seen it (Nilly's really the person I had in mind) OR once Serenity has been out on DVD for a couple of weeks, close the Spoilers/Serenity thread entirely, and have the whole shebang in one thread.
But, I'm personally happy to do any of the above suggested. I just want us to be clear on the rules so there aren't spoiling incidents for people who are trying not to be spoiled.
