And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Better to just vote against it then to engage in a discussion that pisses me (and maybe others) off.

This is my feeling as well. (And FWIW, I didn't think it was a confusing ballot. I voted No because I didn't want another new thread, not because I couldn't parse the options.)

Personally, I think Lightbulbs is not the place for a general discussion on thread proliferation aka Who Are We Now And Where Are We Going, and I'm glad we didn't have too much of that this time around. If that's a talk that needs to happen again (and I'm not saying it does or doesn't), it should happen in here, without being tied to a specific thread proposal. In here, it can be a discussion. In Lightbulbs, it's always going to be a debate, because there's always a specific vote on the line.

No other candidate is asking the hard questions, like "Did geophysicists assassinate Jim Henson?" or "Why is there hydrogen in America's water supply?" --defective yeti

Sometimes people post how many times each person posted, or how much web traffic we got each day. Would it be fun to see how many people are subscribed to each thread? Such as Lightbulbs, or whether more people keep up with Apocalypse than Press.

(ps on page reload: Jessica, that tagline is perfect!)

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Since those threads always appear on the right side of the page, whether or not one has subscribed to them, I'm not sure how accurate of a statistic you'd get. Heck, I'm not even sure whether I'm subscribed to them, but I always read them first.

Yeah, I don't subscribe to any right-side threads, but I read them all. (I like being able to keep them separate from the general-discussion threads in my mind.)

Thanks, Nou. It's from one of the comments in here . (I forget exactly which entry.)

Our wings are not tired.

I subscribe to the right hand threads to use Read New. I don't always go to the Message Center or Home Page.

What is even happening?

Maybe a stompy could edit in a note here -- jengod "Sunnydale Press" Sep 16, 2005 2:09:37 pm PDT -- to warn the spoiler averse that it contains a casting spoiler?

DXMachina - Sep 16, 2005 1:36:24 pm PDT #5605 of 10001
You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I deleted the text (there wasn't much) of jengod's post because the spoiler's already been mentioned in the appropriate places.

Oh, that's too bad. I think a lot of people who are spoiler averse might light to peek at it, but I understand.

Where do you draw the line? How is someone supposed to know it's a spoiler that they might make an exception for unless you hint around so much that you give it away? If they are interested in the show, they've already had an opportunity to find out, because you posted a link there. If they wouldn't normally watch the show, they'll get warning when the preview airs, because people will start talking about it.
