Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

dcp, your bet is not playing out so well.

Here is an argument. Certain shows get feature prominence on Buffistas because they are out of the Whedonverse in some way. This is adhered to because of the history and genesis of the board.

A counter argument: The progenitors of the Whedonverse are moving on to other things. Some of those things are not what we think of as speculative fiction, and have less and less to do with the Whedonverse.

My assertion is that this board is about speculative fiction on TV. The shows I propose are the creative leaders in this arena. They are what we are about.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Gus, trying to get four people to second your proposal on a Friday night (or the weekend in general) is about as probable as removing cats, baseball and porn from the list of discussion topics.

Relax, and let this play out organically. Your enthusiasm may actually have the opposite effect you intended.

I do not watch either show so I cannot in good conscience second your proposal.

Certain shows get feature prominence on Buffistas because they are out of the Whedonverse in some way.

What shows? The only show thread we've added in recent times, that I can think of, is Lost. I didn't think the addition of that thread had anything to do with a Whedonverse connection.

Thanks, MFNlaw. I will chill. For some reason, this issue has gotten under my skin.

Kristen, there were some citations of the Mustard Guy connection around that time, but I am chilling and will not bring them up.

Behold me, being chill.

Our wings are not tired.

The Sci-Fi Friday shows being discussed in Boxed Set works for detailed discussion all times except for W&P. This problem would be solved if all Buffistas would just move to the Right coast. This would also help for coordination of F2F activities.

Hey, it's a plan.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

My perception of Boxed Set is that it gallops along as functionally as can be expected. (Certainly, talk about one show does not overwhelmingly dominate, as Lost came to do at times in Natter.) Since it ain't any more broke than anything else, and I'm anti new thread generally, I'm not a fan of the proposal.

Hey! Paperwork people! How goes that?

We are the Committee of All Up In Everybody's Business. Sadly, we are still working out exactly how we shall intrude into everybody's lives.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I second Laura's proposal, though.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

It's not summary dismissal of the proposal, it is a recognition that this is a frequent topic of argument-- expanding shows into their own threads and changing the definition of Boxed Set have both undergone incredible amounts of hand-wringing at different times.

As Laura said, the only problem is watch&post-- this does not warrant a new thread unless you really want to re-open the expansionist debate.

I'll second Gus's proposal. I'd love to see those threads.
