My deal has been stated. I don't identify with this place being about tv shows that are off the air or in syndication. but, more than that I just think it is a wrong description.

It would be nice if our description described us. But I don't think about it very often.
I think our description should be a map of the universe, and right at the center of the map there's a little arrow that says, "You are here."

I see bon bon's objection to our claims to intelligence and humor. Those may be valued particularly, but they should be self-evident. (I think that's her objection. It's cheesy to introduce yourself by saying, "Halloo! I'm so smart and funny! Dig my utterly brill witticisms!")
Yes, this is part of it. I mean, I don't have a huge stake in it since it's stared me in the face for two years or however long, but I don't want to just throw shit without justifying it. It's like someone saying they are cool. You are or you aren't. It should be self-evident, it just looks overly defensive and insecure up there, and it does nothing to actually distinguish us from any other board.
Whereas, if Jon's suggestion were up there when I first clicked on this site, I'd think, "hey, these people seem funny and smart."

I don't think the description is all that apt anymore, but I'm good with leaving it be, too. I don't feel I've been around long enough to have too much of a say with something as central as that.
