FWIW, I still like pithy, clever, show-offy thread names, even the pop culture ones DH has to explain to me because of the large gaps in my musical and cinematic knowledge. Which is why I really liked the "more worlds to conquer" option, because I had to explain it to him, and it's fun to be the one who gets to show off on occasion. Oh well. Water under the bridge.

The weird part is, why does everybody die at 33? I mean, why not 37 or 41.5 or something? (I thought the Jesus one was funny, but I don't have a stake in his importance, so... and stake is the wrong word, isn't it?)
Therefore I propose: Natter 34: not dead yet.
The REAL real problem is that anything above 10 or so, we run out of number-oriented jokes to tell. THere is the occasional rapture of bullshit consensus around something hilarious like
four and twenty natters: WHO ARE YOU BAKING FOR??
...which I adored by the way, but there's not so many jokes you can make about 58, or 92, or 127.
Therefore I propose: we hit a limit and start over with numbers! Okay, that would be disastrous from an archiving standpoint.

If Beverly's proposal was a Proposal, then I'm fourthing. Not that I want to do away with thread titles (I don't.) But I think a discussion may be warranted and, for a variety of reasons, I'd rather see it in Lightbulb than here.

I'm not sure I get why people who don't like the discussion on thread names bother to participate in them. What's the harm in just skipping that conversation? Or is it the thread names themselves that are an issue?

I think it is more the fact that people enjoy arguing/discussing what the titles should be and people's emotions get too vested into the process. This is especially true for threads like Bitches & Natter, but they need to be changed so often anyway, so I just refer to them as "Bitches" or "Natter" - the rest of the title is just something fun. I'll throw my ideas and votes in, but in the end, really, it's not all that important.

Because when you see 100 posts in Bureau, your automatic thought is to wonder what's up. And then you find out it's just arguing over what to call Bitches 587, and since you've read 100 posts about it, you may as well pipe in.
Or that's how it works for me, anyhow.
