And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I wonder if Dani can help with that.

She's tried. A number of times.

That all non-Sci-Fi (/fantasy) show talk happen in Natter and/or Bitches.

So Due South would be shut out of the thread? (It's been a long time, but I'm pretty sure it's not a sci-fi show.)

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

So, spoiler-policy would be:

1) Black-font episode discussions for all shows after they air, EST. (Are all non-east coast people who are not ita OK with this?) I like it, 'cause the random white-fonts for aired episodes have been frankly driving me a little bonkers.

2) The non-US-aired episodes (which now include up to SGA and SG-1 season finales and the entirety of BSG S1) can be discussed in white-font. I would ask everyone to clearly label them though. Not just with episode titles (because the non-spoiled wouldn't know the episode titles in advance) but with the episode number. Actually, a lot of people don't keep track of the episode number either. Maybe the person who's starting the discussion on an unaired episode can do something like:

SG-1, 8x22: Moebius 2 (not aired in US yet)

... before white-fonting, then the ensuing discussion can just refer to the episode title.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm pretty sure it's not a sci-fi show

I think the effect of shutting it out would be nil, but I also think there are people who'd argue that the whole ghost thing makes it fantasy.

(Are all non-east coast people who are not ita OK with this?)

I'm not okay with at all -- I just thought it was what DebetEsse meant.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Good call, ita.

I think dS has been defined as fantasy (thank you, DeadBob)

eta: that was what I meant. It seems easier to me to have West Coasters avoid the thread than to wade through "which white font is what", is all.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think that's getting a little complicated on the spoiler stuff. Show and aired/not aired would be good enough for me.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Show and aired/not aired would be good enough for me.

Since BSG is one of the shows up for discussion, and it's aired overseas but not in the US, I think it's necessary to specify.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

So Due South would be shut out of the thread?

I'd also say the magic realism aspect of the show can sort of slip it under the fantasy radar. Plus, Due South is the granddaddy of the thread. Most of us would agree that we'd want to keep it in the thread.

I'm not okay with at all

Hmmm. Brief white-fonting until the west coast people get the shows on air/until the morning after is another option. Or some other workable spoiler policy if enough people prefer it. We're still discussing the options, I think.

This makes me kind of uncomfortable, but I think we're being US-centric here ('cause the Canadians are getting yet another different schedule for SGA and SG-1). Anything aired on US = black font. Anything not yet aired on US (including the UK and Canadian aired) = white font.
