A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

But I'm still not sure what the deal with only 3 shows is. I tried to write in a category of F/X shows (The Shield, Nip/Tuck, Rescue Me, Thief etc.) kinda like a block thread, but because I had already voted for 24, Alias, and Lost, I couldn't even do that.

The three show maximum was Lyra Jane's call. You can write in shows, but you can't pick more than 3 shows (total from the list and write-ins).

Up with the sun

Yeah, I understand the list isn't perfect. I felt like I gave people time to suggest more shows to include, plus there is write-in space.

Three is because it seemed like that was the largest number people would be remotely comfortable with adding at one time, and because no one seemed to object to the idea overmuch. I'm sorry if the feeling is I didn't solicit enough feedback on the poll -- it seemed to me like not many people were commenting in Lightbulb, so I just went with my draft.

And as for how to vote --there's only one on the list I would actually lobby for a thread for based on my personal taste, so my other two picks will be based on what seems to get a lot of discussion. Again, this is nonbinding, so we'll have time to talk about the results before we do anything.

Lyra Jane, when I have the results, which may not be until late on Thursday night, do you want me to send them to you, or just post them myself?

Please send them to me Lee, thanks. I'll post them Friday.

Will do.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I want to use a couple of posts (Tim's and Joss' Firefly cancellation posts) in an essay about the Firefly campaign.

Have we ever hammered out a policy on quoting from the board? Proper citation?

Sorry, back to voting:

If I want no new threads but want a say in any thread we might get, then how do I vote?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Then you pick no new threads and the shows you'd vote for. I'm figuring there'll be some sort of subtraction performed to make sure you don't actually count towards the creating of new threads period, just that if they fly, you want to have a say in which ones.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Pretty much. It's understood this is a public board, but acknowledgement of who and where is considered polite.

If I want no new threads but want a say in any thread we might get, then how do I vote?

I might interpret this as: No New threads! And The Seth is Mine and I'm willing to explain why.

So we have a title for The O.C. thread now, don't we.
