I have no problem with talking about current shows in Natter, white font and all. I skip, and that's fine. I wonder, though, about posts like this one:
Polter-Cow "Natter 28 Days Later: Can We Have Zombies?" Oct 3, 2004 11:13:39 am PDT
where one has to page down a couple of times to get through the white font. I realize that it's the exception rather than the rule, but is there a better way we can do this?
I'm sorry about that, but I don't see how it's all that different from a long, involved post about a non-whitefonted discussion you're not interested in. Unless you don't like big blocks of white, in which case I could do that fun thing where there are little chunks of white instead.
Nah, PC, there's certainly no need to apologize for it, because we really don't have any alternatives. I'm just not sure Natter is the place for really involved analysis of the TV shows that are being talked about in there. It's sort of the reverse of the way Natter came about. The natter was taking over the analysis threads at TT, so Betsy started the first Natter thread. Now we're in a situation where on some nights the TV talk is taking over Natter, so maybe it is time for a TV thread.
(I don't feel terribly strongly about that last. Just throwing it out there.)
Well, I recall someone proposed making Lost one of the shows that we'd talk about in Boxed Set. It doesn't much matter to me where the discussion takes place, but I thought I'd bring it up and see if people thought it was a good idea.

I was thinking that, too. Granted, even in the TV thread the discussion would probably have to be whitefonted for the most current eps. But that fact -- the whitefonting -- is no different from what's happening in Natter now. It would just be diverted into its own thread.
And it is kind of annoying. Like DX, I don't have strong feelings about it, but all the TV posts do take over Natter on some nights -- and The O.C. hasn't even started yet. I expect pages of whitefont when it does.
I wouldn't mind a TV thread. I'm all sucked into Lost, already. I'd like to have somewhere to discuss it. As it is, my need leaks into Bitches. I don't think the few of us who've nattered about it have been too annoying, but I'd like to be able to discuss it more in depth. Also, I'm still watching Nip/Tuck like the great train wreck that it is and wouldn't mind somewhere to talk about that one, too.
I'm all for a TV thread, possibly more than one.
Idea: What if we did a (nonbinding) poll to see what shows people are watching/plan to watch/would like to discuss, and then started threads for the top 2-4 votegetters? Everything else could stay in Natter or Boxed Set, and there wouldn't be the spoilage problems that come with a general TV thread.
Lyra Jane, I think that's a good idea, but then, I'm pro-proliferation. How much of an impact would that have on board health (technically speaking)?
How much of an impact would that have on board health (technically speaking)?
That's definitely the most important question. I don't want to do anything that would compromise board health, so if my idea would cause major problems, it's out.
