I'm in the same corner as Sail and Cindy (I need a nickname that begins with a sibilant). Of all the things I hate to miss the first is the book launch, the second is aftenoon tea at Casa Marcontell. I even priced flights, just to torture myself.
But, she said bravely, scuttling onto the bench beside Sail and Cindy and lifting her chin, you guys have twice the fun partying for the folks who can't come.
Ooh, Deb. CSI:NY had a clue this week of walnut dust--the suspect had been one of a team cleaning statues in the park. Apparently they blow walnut dust at high velocity to "sand" the statues clean. It's amazing where you find nut dust when you become aware of it as an alergen.
Bev, weirdly, I'd heard that before - I knew it was occasionally used as a cleaner.
Plei, no allergies, but a dislike of coconut here.
Lee, sweetie, insent.
I'ma off to run 26.2. Whee!!!
After consulting with Juliana, I am going to try to call first the Sixth Avenue Inn, and then the Days Inn if Sixth Avenue can't fit us all in.
Lyra Jane, Do you want me to reserve a room for you at the same time I reserve 2 for the rest of us, just to make sure we can all get into the same hotel? If so, what are your preferences, and you need check in on Saturday and check out on Monday, right?
eta: I also have a new
hotel option. What do people think?
Go get 'em, juliana!
I'm thinking it might be an idea to have a mutual exchange of hotel info and cellphone list and whatnot, once everything is booked and closer to the time. Feelings about that? (Not in a squishy way...)

That's an incredibly nice offer, Lee. Email insending.
Plei, Lyra Jane, Jessica and Juliana, insent.
Well, I spent a couple of hours investigating hotels, as did Juliana, and guess what? The best one I came up with, where we have reservations, is the Comfort Suites, which is where Deb has been planning on staying all along.
t smacks forehead.
muHA! Lee, sorry, but that made me laugh. Central core of partygoers!
I bought my tickets! Whee!
