Cindy, can't you leave the bambinos with your honey for a weekend and scavenge some frequent flyer miles from someone?
'Shindig'
F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!
(Sits with Cindy. Has a feeling this corner is going to get very crowded.)
Ah, deb, I've already thought about it. Money's tight, but even then, it's nothing I couldn't chalk up to an early Christmas present for myself, or whatever. But 10/29 is our 10th anniversary, and also? My kids are so little. I'd feel really badly about missing Halloween (and they'd be crushed), or I'd have to leave so early Sunday, I'd feel really cheated on the trip.
Also? I get panic attacks at Target. I don't think I could fly alone--and I am turning into a pathetic-thing as I type this.
Sail, Bronzers have a grand old tradition of Sour Grapes Parties (from when the Bronzers through the posting board party, or PBP). We'll kick it, old school. Come sit by me, baby.
(Scuttles over towards Cindy. Sits primly. Considers a grope, but decides against it. Offers hand to shake, instead.)
I'm still kicking the universe that I'll end up being up in SF this year again for Halloween and that all the festivities are going to be up in Seattle.
Damn, I forgot - kids plus Halloween equals a not-miss occasion. We always took Jo trick or treating (the year we got her up as Boadicea, complete with snake bracelets and culturally anachronistic blue face paint, and coached her to ring doorbells and yell a greeting of "Mortuis Imperator! Death to Rome! Candy!" was fun).
Days Inn sounds good to me, Lee. (Just remember, if we're sharing a room, that I'll be there Saturday through Monday, not Friday-Sunday.)
I'll email you too, Plei, but I have no food allergies, and I'll eat pretty much anything.
I'm in the same corner as Sail and Cindy (I need a nickname that begins with a sibilant). Of all the things I hate to miss the first is the book launch, the second is aftenoon tea at Casa Marcontell. I even priced flights, just to torture myself.
But, she said bravely, scuttling onto the bench beside Sail and Cindy and lifting her chin, you guys have twice the fun partying for the folks who can't come.
Ooh, Deb. CSI:NY had a clue this week of walnut dust--the suspect had been one of a team cleaning statues in the park. Apparently they blow walnut dust at high velocity to "sand" the statues clean. It's amazing where you find nut dust when you become aware of it as an alergen.
Bev, weirdly, I'd heard that before - I knew it was occasionally used as a cleaner.
