Mal: Does.. um.. does this seem kind of tight? Kaylee: Shows off your backside.

F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

Our wings are not tired

I think those are the big three. As you find stuff or find good possibilities post the results here with thinks like links to websites if possible so that the gathered Buffista masses can look at stuff and do what we do best...talk about them!

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Teppy is me WRT how and why I voted. I'm as heat-sensitive as anyone, but if I can afford the trip, I'll be there. I may skip any daytime excursions that involve being outdoors for any length of time, because I really do pretty much wilt if it's 80 or above and humid. But I need some downtime to hide in my hotel room anyway.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Matt, David, if I had the remotest interest in getting drunk, the idea of hanging out in a bar to avoid the weather I'd just paid $400 or so to come be in might appeal.

I don't, and it doesn't. No idea whether I'm coming or not, but just saying, booze is not a factor for me.

If I only had a brain...

I was trying to think of a tactful way to say "If all I wanted was to drink myself into (A) unconsciousness and (B) a migraine, I could do it without airfare."

Many Buffistas love hanging out in a bar, but hanging out in a bar is not sufficient entertainment to please all of us.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Given both the city and our crowd, I think doing most everything by night and sleeping the day away in the hotel will work out best for all concerned.

Yes, this. Add my terror of flying (and the physical discomofrt of it, for me, as well) and I find I want a better inducement than sitting in a noisy room that smells like beer, watching people end up in a state I usually avoid when possible.

NO has plenty of attractions; I happen to love the damned city, with a major passion. But I haven't been since long before this disease took hold, and for me, if the general draw is to be outdoors in heat and humidity, plus huge crowds, and the breaks from that revolve around watching people get liquored up? Then the idea of doing this just with Nic as an entirely different kind of visit has a greater appeal.

Given both the city and our crowd, I think doing most everything by night and sleeping the day away in the hotel will work out best for all concerned.

Oy. I think Matt just convinced me to pass on this one. I am NOT a night person; night is for sleep.

Thrive to spite them

I've never been to NO and I'm not sure what some of the day trips might be but I know that anything inside will have air conditioning.

I'm still trying to get it around my head that many of y'all don't have air conditioners in your houses and, in fact, don't need them.

I think we may cut down on the ones we actually post. There're just so. freaking. many. She's still getting offers. We'll just take out the ones that are way to expensive or in the wrong areas and that stuff.

Also, I hate to complain or be a wet rag, but it's kinda hurtful to read a buncha stuff about how your home sucks. I'm probably being oversensitive since I'm used to hearing bad stuff about the South/Louisiana/NO.

If I only had a brain...

I'm actually excited about visiting such a beautiful city, Heather; my only issue is whether it's fair to go for the first time without my husband, who is also a foodie.

Our wings are not tired

Grrrr. Okay, my stress and blood pressure really can't take a good solid round of beating a dead horse today, so here's the deal. I did everything I could get a good vote on this one. I asked for as much input as I could get on the voting system. I asked for input on pretty much every step of the way. Now we are getting pot shots on the choice so here are the options:

1. Accept that NO is the city, it was chosen. 2. Re-Vote. If folks truly believe that it was a totally flawed vote, then let's hear it. I'm frustrated that issues with how the vote was structured are coming up now and not two weeks ago when we were talking about he voting system, but hey, we run our own ship here and we can change things if needed. If it was that flawed then we'll find a way to redo it.

I'm frustrated right now and I'm tired, and I'm very cranky, so I'm sorry if this has a bit of a ranting tone to it.
