If I only had a brain...

I'm actually excited about visiting such a beautiful city, Heather; my only issue is whether it's fair to go for the first time without my husband, who is also a foodie.

Our wings are not tired

Grrrr. Okay, my stress and blood pressure really can't take a good solid round of beating a dead horse today, so here's the deal. I did everything I could get a good vote on this one. I asked for as much input as I could get on the voting system. I asked for input on pretty much every step of the way. Now we are getting pot shots on the choice so here are the options:

1. Accept that NO is the city, it was chosen. 2. Re-Vote. If folks truly believe that it was a totally flawed vote, then let's hear it. I'm frustrated that issues with how the vote was structured are coming up now and not two weeks ago when we were talking about he voting system, but hey, we run our own ship here and we can change things if needed. If it was that flawed then we'll find a way to redo it.

I'm frustrated right now and I'm tired, and I'm very cranky, so I'm sorry if this has a bit of a ranting tone to it.

The evil is this way?

Watch it sister, you exist in my reality...'s mind.

Dear Red Sox Nation:

Pulling that pitcher late in the game when his arm is tired -- how hard is that? Because your managers seem to find it very hard to do.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Bear in mind most of my experience with New Orleans was in the Quarter in its capacity as Party Central, so I wax nostalgic about that. There's tons of fun stuff to do by daylight, including boat rides, tours of the St. Louis Cathedral, poring through the French Market, enjoying live music at the Jax Brewery, and seeing all the artists, street performers, etc. at Jackson Square. And I'm sure that there's lots of attractions outside the Quarter, though I've only trvelled outside it by mistake on a late night trolley ride in the wrong direction.

Thrive to spite them

Y'all should be glad there's no reason for anyone to want to come to my home town. On average it's hotter than NOLA and it's hell for people with allergies.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

MY 2 cents.

NO was chosen. Let's move on.

If I only had a brain...

What I'd like to request is suggestions for some place air-conditioned to go during the day. Is there a zoo? A historical museum? A street with lots of air-conditioned shops?

I'm very, very excited about seeing New Orleans, but I need entertainment that would bore Spike. I go to sleep early, I don't drink much, and I hate loud noises. I still had a great time at the Chicago and LA F2Fs, because there were non-decadent amusements.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'm with Aimee. Let's move on.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

There is a very cool zoo, and I have to assume we can track down the rest.

1. Accept that NO is the city, it was chosen.

I passionately support this. We bullshit-consensed that we'd do a non-ranked vote, then we voted. Time to go with it.
