But I understand. You gave up everything you had to find me. And you found me broken. It's hard for you.

Up with the sun

From D.C., I get the following rates for leaving Friday and coming back Sunday:

NOLA: $195-$240
KCMO: $170-$180
Toronto: $270-$360
MPLS: $215-$400.

The airport I chose to depart from didn't seem to make much difference for anyplace but Minneapolis, which is at least $389 from BWI, much cheaper from either Dulles or National.

Plane fares are pretty much the make-or-break factor for me this year, as I'm equally interested in three of the locations and none are really drive-friendly.

Also: I like Jon's a-b-c-d suggestion.

Toronto: $270-$360

My flight from Halifax to DC (which was via Toronto on the way back) was $360 CDN. But I think that was a seat sale...

$360 Canadian is ... how much in real money :-)? $240 or so, right?

Which airport did you fly into in D.C.?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

A nickel.

Hey! The exchange rate is a bit better for us these days. I'd say $250-$280.

ETA: According to the Currency converter on Expedia, it's about $280 USD.

I flew into National, on Air Canada.

Our wings are not tired

Okay, so it's looking like we're getting a decent amount of talk here on the cities. I'm thinking of putting an announcement in press that we'll do voting starting tomorrow evening. That means that between now and tomorrow evening we need to work out the exact format and wording on the ballot and then how we are going to use that ballot to decide the city.

It sounds like we could do each of the four cities and then give the option for "Would Attend" "Would Not Attend" and then score from there. We could also have the each voter rank the choices from 1 to 4, or just choose one city or two cities.

If we go with ranking, how do we score that for the final choice?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Right - so don't have any meetings that weekend this time, missy.

Well! I voted "can't go" for that weekend. It's clearly that the Buffistas lack love for meeeee!

(Don't go with ranking. It's a legendary Buffista sore spot. Except with Jon.)

Yeah, I know that ranking can be a trick question around here. I'm simply trying to find the best way for us to pick this city. The easiest one is to only allow each person to vote for one city, most votes wins.

There seems to have been a call for folks who want to say that they may not have a city that's a first choice, but there are certain cities that mean they would not attend, and others that would attend.

I'm in the camp of one vote and use it on the city you like the most.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

I also like the "one vote" deal. Simplest is best, in my book.
