Yeah, I know that ranking can be a trick question around here. I'm simply trying to find the best way for us to pick this city. The easiest one is to only allow each person to vote for one city, most votes wins.
There seems to have been a call for folks who want to say that they may not have a city that's a first choice, but there are certain cities that mean they would not attend, and others that would attend.
I'm in the camp of one vote and use it on the city you like the most.

I also like the "one vote" deal. Simplest is best, in my book.

I think I'm in favor of one vote, with a survey sort of "which cities would you be able to attend?" question, so that, if the final vote is really close (like, within a few votes), but a lot more people would be able to attend one than the other, we could see that. (I seriously doubt that would happen, but I think it would be nice to be able to see the data.)

It sounds like we could do each of the four cities and then give the option for "Would Attend" "Would Not Attend" and then score from there.
Personally, I'd rather either rank the cities, or just pick one choice among the four. If we're going to be asking "would attend" / "would not attend," I think that should be a pre-vote survey, not the vote itself.

There was, but I don't think the city was chosen because of the # of "can't go"s, but I dunno. I probably couldn't go to one or two cities, but that's just sometimes the way the cookie crumbles.
