I think that we can't take airfare into account.
I agree that it's difficult to take into account if you want to vote based on whether you think
other
people will be able to make it. But it could certainly be a factor if you're trying to decide for yourself whether
you
can make it.
That's why I like the a) b) c) d) options for voting I listed above. It makes clear whether the voter might attend, as opposed to what the voter thinks others might want.
It's for reference. I'm also trying to get a bead on which cities cause a lot of folks to have to fly as opposed to which cities are within driving distance for a lot of folks.
I found it useful to me, FWIW. Not in terms of what it'll actually cost me, but by seeing that there isn't a staggering difference by city from a handful of likely starting points, it tells me it's not really something I need to take into account in figuring my votes.
Yeah, for me, it's airfare that makes or breaks it. *shrug* Y Deciding Factor MV
I'm of the school that more information is better. People will base their votes on all kinds of different issues, and that's pretty much how it should work.
Sorry, folks. I didn't have a chance to check in this afternoon. I have bids from 2 downtown hotels.
The better of the two is the Novotel at a rate of 115 USD per night and 600 USD for the prom, negotiations still to come. Parking is 12USD per day. This place is right downtown, walking distance from Union station, subway and major attractions.
Novotel Toronto Centre
Edited for better hotel link.

Yeah, I like Jon's voting choices, too. Because it matters to me whether or not other people can make it.
And someone should make us a chart. So I can look at the comparisons while being really, really lazy.
Because it matters to me whether or not other people can make it.
Right - so don't have any meetings that weekend this time, missy.
Oh, that's true. I like more info. I guess that I just didn't think about driving info. My bad.
Heather, I'm also among those who'll be driving to f2f if we choose New Orleans (or Kansas City, for that matter).
KC would be an ok drive for me- not as good as NO (but that has nothing to do with distance or anything, just that I could stop in S'port and I know the way much better. Purely selfish reasons).
