F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Deb, if you end up in the Connecticut area, a fabulous fabulous indie bookstore that has a lot of authors read is R J Booksellers in Madison. The owner, Roxanne, is often on the Faith Middleton show, an NPR radio host who sometimes does "book recommendation" shows. Could be great publicity...

Obviously my house would be yours if you needed a place to stay.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Woot! Thanks, Kristin. If I was going to do the Boston area, I'd want to do a few east coast hits, definitely.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

So, anyway, we can take this to email, but it would be lots of fun to hang out in Ohio (Columbus area) the Friday after Thanksgiving. The folks I can think of off the top of my head are Steph, Cashmere and Deena. Anyone else want in on the post-turkey day Columbus OH -area F2F? We can email as the time grows near...

Our wings are not tired

Well, I was supposed to get votes rolling on Monday for the F2F 2005 location but we've still not gotten information on Toronto and there has not been much discussion.

I'm in the midst of a project or two today and can't get to things until tonight but I'd really like to see a summary of hotel prices and such that we have that includes all four cities. It's going to take a little digging through backlog in this thread. I'll try to get to it later tonight unless anyone has some time and feels like tackling it.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Cool, Nora!

I'm more than willing to take on hosting/plannung for an Ohio F2F for the day after Thanksgiving. We can discuss details but interested parties can e me at the profile addy so we can guage interest and see what folks might want to do.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

ND -- I'll need to know how you want the ballot designed (e.g. vote for one city; vote for two cities; vote can attend/won't attend on each city; rank the cities; etc.). I'll have time today and tomorrow evenings to work on it.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Proposals (including hotel prices) for NO and Mpls respectively are here:

I didn't bookmark the KC or Toronto stuff, sorry.

To repeat the Mpls. original hotel proposal:

Northstar's offer is thus: Sleeping rooms - $99/per night - no change in rate for single to quad occupancy
Hospitality Suite $300 - $400 total, but will include a 2-person Jacuzzi.
Prom - Under negotiation. This is one of 3 union hotels in the city, so catering is required.
Parking: $14/day during the week, $9/day on the weekend.
It is connected to the Skyway system, which is goes all over Downtown and is lined with shops, restaurants, and art galleries.
A 'rooftop' garden for all guests

Updates on Mpls:

The room rates continue to be between $89-109 per night.

The Suite rate is ranging between free and $150/night.

The Prom Room rate is almost entirely dependent on catering requirements, and the middle lands around $400 with a cash bar.

The Hyatt has made a very competitive bid, much lower than the Northstar, but I have yet to check out the facilities. It's right across from the Millenium, where Deb stayed for the wedding. Everything is very much handicap-accessible.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

hmm, isn't it interesting that Juliana only linked to her hometown and the party favorite? a bit biased, methinks . . . . :)

As for the Ballot, let's make it vote for two cities. We'll apply equal weight to the each vote and the city with the most votes is the one that will take the gold ring. Does that sound like a good plan to everyone?

Hmppph. :) Perhaps a bit busy when the other two were putting up their info? ;)

(I actually did feel bad when I realized I hadn't bookmarked anything else....)
