I didn't bookmark the KC or Toronto stuff, sorry.
To repeat the Mpls. original hotel proposal:
Northstar's offer is thus: Sleeping rooms - $99/per night - no change in rate for single to quad occupancy
Hospitality Suite $300 - $400 total, but will include a 2-person Jacuzzi.
Prom - Under negotiation. This is one of 3 union hotels in the city, so catering is required.
Parking: $14/day during the week, $9/day on the weekend.
It is connected to the Skyway system, which is goes all over Downtown and is lined with shops, restaurants, and art galleries.
A 'rooftop' garden for all guests
Updates on Mpls:
The room rates continue to be between $89-109 per night.
The Suite rate is ranging between free and $150/night.
The Prom Room rate is almost entirely dependent on catering requirements, and the middle lands around $400 with a cash bar.
The Hyatt has made a very competitive bid, much lower than the Northstar, but I have yet to check out the facilities. It's right across from the Millenium, where Deb stayed for the wedding.
Everything is very much handicap-accessible.
hmm, isn't it interesting that Juliana only linked to her hometown and the party favorite? a bit biased, methinks . . . . :)
As for the Ballot, let's make it vote for two cities. We'll apply equal weight to the each vote and the city with the most votes is the one that will take the gold ring. Does that sound like a good plan to everyone?

Hmppph. :) Perhaps a bit busy when the other two were putting up their info? ;)
(I actually did feel bad when I realized I hadn't bookmarked anything else....)
So as of now we have good information on both Mpls and NO. Mpls seems to be just a bit of a price leader at the moment.
KC has the lowest prices we've seen so far, but we are somewhat without a local point person at the moment.
John Sweden is working on getting us the Toronto information.
I'm all for ranking choices, but we know how well
that
plays here.
I do think we should ask people to indicate, for each city, if they
a) almost definitely would attend
b) might attend
c) probably would not attend
d) almost definitely would not attend
If a city has a plurality of the vote, but a high negative score, and another city is a close second but with a much lower negative, we should maybe consider the second place choice.
The next question then, has anyone done some basic checking on airfares in and out of all these cities? The cost of travel usually comes up as an issue so we should talk a bit about it before we roll into the final voting.
A question--experience has taught me that Minneapolis is extremely expensive to fly into--is anyone checking that info? (Even though I know it varies a lot, we can look at averages.) That would definitely affect my decision.
