Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Oh! Nope. Rumors are untrue. Tim was a Buffista before I, and long before we became friends.

My bad. Not about the thanks, but about not verifying. I'm a librarian; I should know better!

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I do love that the rumors exist. Any other ones? Are Tim and I dating? If so, can I move in? I hear he's RICH!

Strictly platonic, I fear. But I'm sure I heard hints that you know things. Perhaps you could blackmail him.

For Tim Minear, not Allyson: I can't believe I just typed that. And am about to post. Ignore what I just said. All thoughts of blackmail are strictly in jest.

edited, because it's funnier with white font.
edit eta that it's funnier to me. I have no idea about the rest of you.
and yet a third time because I can't remember diddlysquat.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Oh, that's totally a story I want to hear--how Nilly found the Buffistas. I've never heard that story, I don't think.

I know the story. We were talking about it while we were driving around Boston last week. But I'll let her tell it.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Put me in the corner of people who think you rock, Allyson, and on the list of people who don't need an accounting.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Please god, no one send me accounting for anything. I can't even keep track of my own accounts.

Also in the camp of "thankful for Allyson's logistical work and everyone else's contributions (Tim's huge donation, ND's willingness to drive insane distances, all the hosts...etc.)". I'm with Jen. I refuse to let any negativity taint this for me.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

It's just a way for me to make sure I didn't make an error, or worse, in case anyone ever accuses me, I have proof that I didn't hurt anyone.

(blink) Wrongdoing, hurting anyone? That is so completely beyond me, the mind boggles. But I could see how intense scruples would produce it. It just freaked me that I hadn't even thought of offering up an accounting. And lord knows, mine would likely be far less of a pain in the arse than yours to do, since I didn't have to do the buy anything except the nineteen bucks and change to have Fed Ex send it overnight. But honestly, I threw the pitiful amount of money we had at the time the Nillyfest got going, and I got to host her, and Bev, and ND, and Ginger, and Lee and Nicole and Deena and all sorts of amazing people, and I got to show off, and cook, and it was brilliant. And from here, erika got to go to LA and hang out with you, and meet Nilly, so that was brilliant.

So I personally honestly never think of the accounting on any of that, except on the karmic level. And that's all fucking superb.

edit:

Also, if anybody besides you has a question about your honesty, your careful accounting or your integrity? I'll just be borrowing Deb's crossbow, if she'll let me.

No need. I'll use it on your behalf. My aim's damned good, as it happens. and Jen, the pointy things are called bolts.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I certainly don't feel in any need of accounting, except that I probably haven't sufficiently thanked all the people who contributed to my having a wonderful time. Allyson for her organizational skills; Deb and her downstairs neighbor for being wonderful hosts; Bev for being a great traveling companion; all the people who hosted and drove Nilly; Nilly for being Nilly; the members of the Academy.... I just hope I can do things for other people. I have tried, in various sappy ways, to express how much the Buffistas meant to me during a very difficult time in my life, and I suspect I'll always remember the night we made it possible for Nilly to America as a great night. (Okay, I'm just trying to make sure Kristin doesn't corner the market on schmoop.)

I suspect Allyson is wise to think about accounting, because money has certainly been the root of a lot of fannish uproars, but there's no one here who doubts her honesty or her ability to do what she promises. A lot of people contributed to the wonders of the Nilly tour, but I don't think it could have happened without you, Allyson.

Bolts. Check. Thanks, Deb.

I'm getting the pig!

It's come to my attention that I have been a dick in taking some undeserved accolades and also in not sending out the anonymous accounting by now.

Um...no! Allyson, please count me in with the group of folks that could care less about the accounting.

You fucking rock. AFAIK, no one else stepped up to the plate to open their Paypal account, tally funds, volunteer time to work out the aspects of Nilly's visa or insurance needs, etc., etc. All accolades have been deserved.

Whoever brought it to your attention, that you've been perceived as remotely less than awe-inspiring throughout this entire adventure, was mistaken. IMO.
