And don't you ever stand for that sort of thing. Someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back! ... You got the right same as anyone to live and try to kill people.

F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Ok, I've booked my accommodation, Friday and Saturday night. It's all good. Last time I was staying in a hotel on my own was (IIRC) when I went to San Diego to present a paper at the Valuation Actuaries Symposium. It was a curious mixture of missing Bec and, in the words of Xander, liking the quiet. (Also when I started watching Adult Swim.)

Our wings are not tired

AV equipment for the hospitality suite?
Amps etc.for the music?

I'll be bringing a laptop with a ton of music but can't help with the gear as it's kinda outta my home base this year.

Ann, that's a ferret.

One for the things-people-might-want-to-do list:

The National Gallery of Art is now showing a special exhibit on Courtly Art of the Maya. The weekend of the F2F, there'll be a number of programs relating to Mexico.

No idea on the details, and no idea why the program isn't closer to Cinco de Mayo.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I can put out some feelers for a P.A. if no localistas have any connections. I got us a good one in Chicago.

if no localistas have any connections.

You know I might. What exactly would we need? (i'm technotarded but am in a band and know a ton of people who know about equipment and stuff)

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

An amp/mixer, microphone, two decent-sized speakers, and all the necessary cords/wires. The speakers should be big enough to handle the room. I haven't seen the room, so I can't say for sure how big. If you know of an equipment rental place in the area, you might just call them and ask what P.A. packages they have. As a point of comparison, the one in Chicago cost $100 for the day.

I'm also going to need a small to medium sized guitar amp for my theremin.

I'm almost certain I can get this for you from my guitarist. I'll check with him. And I'll check about the other equipment.

Also, I just made my reservations. We're sold out on our block for Sunday night. I left a message asking about upping Sunday, or maybe shuffling nights.

Contract requirements (32 total room nights):
21st - 12 rooms
22nd - 15 rooms
23rd - 5 rooms

Actual to date (27 total room nights):
21st - 9 rooms
22nd - 12 rooms
23rd - 6 rooms

I presume there are some people who haven't made reservations yet (no need to pass the hat yet).

I also left a message about the AV equipment. We have to use theirs, unless they don't have any. So, AV people - actually, Jon, when I get a call back on that, may I relay info and then put you and AV Hotel person in touch to deal with it? or lisah, whoever? The AV, the food & bev, the tv, all that, has to be worked out with the hotel. It's the same # as the reservations #.
