ita, there probably is, but I'm going to start one specifically for this. I hate the yahoo-style lists; keeping track of those groups is a drag.
This way, I can keep a hand on the organisation, and non-area people visiting just for Nilly can ping me and get added.
JZ! I've just bought two tri-fold futons, and therefore have an airbed or three. Do you need an extra?
It's not a yahoo style list, deb. It'd just be an e-mail address like SFistas@buffistas.org. A list to which people can opt in and out without having to notify anyone specifically.
But if you're maintaining a specific list for an event, manual is probably the way to go. As long as names don't get dropped in the recipient list.
Heh, thanks, Deb, but no. We have room for the one airbed that we already own but no more space than that, unless we do away with the coffee table or someone wants to sleep on the back porch.
My friend will be around in DC until the 4th of September, and for some reason flights to DC are cheap around that time (I figure these vague terror threats are proving good for something), so it looks like I'll get to DC in time to meet Nilly (and the DC-istas!) Woot.
Allyson, I've sent my digits to your profile addy.
Deb - I'm hopeful that my plan (discussed previously in Livejournal) works out but I'm not sure yet. If it does, I'll be splurging on a hotel room. Heh.
I'll e you either later today or tomorrow.
Cass and I will be in SF for the BBQ, but we're all set on transportation and rooming. Woot!
Also:
From there I'll fly to Boston (probably on the 23rd), and after a couple of days there, a train (?) to NYC, where I'll first be Trudy's guest for a few days, then msbelle's.
I hereby volunteer to drive Nilly between New York and Boston if Jon can't for any reason. I have a presentation I need to do on the 27th and am back to work on the 30th, but I could easily drive her before then.
Also, Allyson, Blue Cross is also in CT and MA, just for your reference.
NEWS!
Nilly mentioned in email that she'd never been to a rock show, and would love to go.
ladies and gents:
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND THE E STREET BAND ANNOUNCE WEST COAST STADIUM TOUR DATES
Springsteen and the Band to play their first show in San Francisco since 1978 (Pacific Bell Park, August 16) and first ever show at Los Angeles's Dodger Stadium (August 17).
Tickets on sale Monday, July 28 at 10:00am
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have announced two new concert dates on the West Coast: August 16 at San Francisco's Pacific Bell Park and August 17 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The shows are Springsteen and the Band's only stadium appearances in California scheduled for their current 2002--2003 world tour, and, along with an already announced date in Denver, CO, the tour's only West Coast concerts.
Nilly will be in LA for Broooooooce!
I still really want to come to SF, but my finances are killing me. I think I would definitely need to stay with someone, rather than in a hotel. Plus, airfare needs to come the hell down, stat.
