I have no vote for the real F2F, since I won't be in the US, but I too am totally down for the Windjammer, if and when.
Hey! I found my camera! too late for the F2F
Java, thanks for the kayaking info. That would be a very cool experience.
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

Woot!
Raquel, we should go even if everyone else poops out on us!
I did, Kristin, thanks! How many folks have RSVPd to your East Coast F2F, if you don't mind sharing? I'm way behind on my travel-planning. I need to get a flight to Seattle around the same time Lee and ND will be there. While I'm there, I hope to meet up with a Port Townsend friend to - you guessed it - go kayaking.
Oops, Rachel, I got sidetracked en route to forward the email. Will do now. eta: looks like my friend's trips are around Italian islands.

Excellent. Let me know once you've ironed out plans.
In terms of numbers, it's early for definites, but I have between 15-20 "probably" replies.
When we get closer (early July), I'll post a list of attendees to make sure I have everyone and I'll Nilly back to the original post with info about the party to see if I'll pick up any stragglers.
On top of the Buffistas, we usually have another 20 or so friends from this area who come, but none of them will be coming early or staying the night.
It's a blast!
Matt, where would you want to go, if we did get 6 people together for a Windjammer? I'd consider it. I've done the Grenadines and some of the US Virgin Islands. The BVIs would be cool.
To tell the truth, I never even considered destination islands. I figure between the company and the boat, I'll be happy as long as no tropical storms blow up and we don't get left behind on Haiti. I wonder if they sail to Martinique?
Matt, I would love to do the Windjammer cruise thing, depending on when it is we go. In January (a nice time to visit warmer climes, methinks), you get two freebies for every six people.
Edit: After looking more at the site, the more I really, really would love to do this.
If I can swing the time off of work, I'd love to do the Windjameer thing.
Revised RFP insent to NoiseDesign. I think it's better than last year's, for what it's worth.
For what it's worth, I need to note that despite the fact I would love to go on the Windjammer and have been dying to do so, I wouldn't be able to go unless it coincided with a school vacation. That whole school teacher thing doesn't allow for much flexibility.
Summer is a great time to go on one, though, becuase most people reserve times during the winter...otherwise I'm stuck with a specific week in December, February, or April. Sorry...
Got the RFP, I've only had a quick chance to look over it but it's looking good to my eyes right now.
Also, I've heard pretty much no discussion on the dates so I'm going to assume that means that we're announcing May 21-22 as the dates of the F2F tomorrow. It's time to speak now or forever hold your peace. I'm running over to press to give folks one last chance to voice stuff.
