You might want to also check flight fares though; USAir (and others?) right now has a $103 round trip flight from DC, and that's cheaper than the train and a lot quicker!
Also, Southwest, which fllies direct between BWI and BDL, had very inexpensive flights. According to their web site, there are still some $49 and $69 one way fares left.

If I end up using public transportation, i'll probably take the Chinatown bus to NY, then Metro North up to you. It'll take longer, but I think it will be much cheaper.
