Man, that *should* be our slogan. You have NO idea how many people get freaked out by that little geographical oddity.
I know I did. "I'm in Kentucky. How the hell did that happen?"
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

Hub or not Dallas is just expensive to fly in and out of.
That's the problem with a hub. Less competition.
Oh, St. Louis.
Hm. Overall, I think I still prefer NOLA and Minneapolis.
NOLA is, I think, the clear frontrunner, but I'd prefer Minneapolis because I hear NOLA has big scary bugs. And we don't have any local NOLAistas, and I want to meet Juliana.
Also in the south, which is the part of the country to which we haven't been yet.
well, technically, DC is the the south.

It isn't that bad. Only a few of the cockroaches have their own zip codes.
Cincy has shitty public transportation, though I think in LA we (mostly) carpooled, didn't we? But used public transportation in Chicago and DC.
I live here, and I wouldn't actually recommend it over Cleveland, NOLA, or Minneapolis. However, it wouldn't be bad, but it can stay on the bench for now. ("Cincinnati: Always a Redshirt.")
I like NOLA because it's close and I've always wanted to go there. And of course we won't be freaking out people there. Although somehow I like our inadverent tradition of scaring the locals and other vistors.
I don't think I've seen everybody's pictures. Will there be links in Press to them? Someone (or more than one person) took a picture of me and meara and I would LOVE LOVE to see it. I'm thinking maybe there was more than one picture taken with meara and me, but she has her leg around me in this one.
Hmm. Kansas City -- very central. There's some stuff to do (jazz, Negro Leagues Museum, Nelson_atkins with the best collection of Eastern art in the U.S.) and easy to get around in.
And there's ME! Party-planner extrodinaire, queen of cleavage, hostess with the mostess. And KC in May is warm, but not hot like NO, and the nights are lovely.
(Although I'm pimping KC, I LOVE LOVE LOVE New Orleans.)
I can't wait until we're seriously discussing options for next year.
I don't think it would hurt to start the discussion in the near future, so we can start looking at options, prices, etc.

Check out Nillytown.
