Oh, at first it was confusing. Just the idea of computers was like — whoa! I'm eleven hundred years old! I had trouble adjusting to the idea of Lutherans.

F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Last call. The bartender's leaving in five minutes.

Well, in that case, could you get me a cosmopolitan please?

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Beth, I will raise a glass of single malt (TJ/Macallan 13 year) with you, as we suffer here, away from the fun.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Foamy prom-goers! DH and I thought of y'all while going about our mundane lives taking Annabel to her second M's game tonight. (She still hasn't seen them win, surprise surprise.)

Frail my heart apart and play me a little Shady Grove

Just left the die-hards in the party room. The music is still going strong, and everyone is slounging and nattering. All in all, a very Buffista tableau.

Everything I wore tonight, in fact, everything I touched tonight has a faint glittery glow. The glitter fairies passed among us all evening, spreading their effulgence.

It was as though two parties were going on, with action in the penthouse and out on the terrace. Made mingling even more mixy.

Java Cat was taking arty portraits all evening. My head is spinning in anticipation of seeing those and all the other pictures being taken tonight. Plus, you know, I need sleep.

Final random F2F fact: Buffistas hug good.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Hi there! I'm bogarting Anne's computer for the moment. It's something like 3 or 4 AM and Anne and I just got back from the Prom. Well, we've been back for a while, but we had to relax a little before going to bed. I had a faaaabulous time, some details later. I just wanted to tell all of you who weren't at Prom that smonster and amyth were headbanging to The Greatest Love. They and Stephanie, as well as the rest of the room, were singing it with great feeling and expression, as Jon powered toward the big climax.

I rode down in the elevator with the bartender, after he'd gotten off-duty--he thanked us, so he must have had a great time.

Okay, pooped now. Need to shower and sleep. Anne and I are going to watch opera animation over coffee and scones tomorrow, before heading back into DC to meet up with Deb, Stephanie, Ginger and Kristin for lunch. Sweet dreams, ev'body!

Our wings are not tired.

So it is after 4AM my time, and I am somewhat tipsy. Should I be posting, no I should not. Am it going to do it anyway, you betcha.

Wow, this F2F is indeed a new and unique experience from the previous mini and major F2F events, for me. So many things to mention. Will I mention them all at this hour, no I will not. A couple things…

The newbies – so wonderful to watch the evolution of the Buffistas. What a wonderful group of people that I have met this trip that did not exist on the board just a year ago. Yes, I know you on the board, but what a joy to see you in person. I know that we can be damned intimidating to the newbies, but those that make the effort to stick around and become part of the community are truly an asset to this island.

The spouses – bless my sweet wonderful husband who has never read a post at b.org for accepting and loving this group for many reasons, but only one reason was needed, that you are important to me. Meeting the various SO’s that don’t post or even lurk on the boards was wonderful. First because they were so precious in and of themselves, but also because they, like Brendon, came to meet those we care so much about. Our mates rule!

Just last weekend I thought I would not be able to make this F2F because of other obligations. I am so grateful that I was able to be here.

To the not-newbie board members that I finally met this F2F, much of the trauma I endured over possibly not making this event was not getting the chance to meet you. It was more than worth the effort. I won’t publicly embarrass you now, but I will no doubt be inappropriately affectionate with you tomorrow.

Also, random…. sj – thanks so much for the treats! Very much appreciated and enjoyed. …. Yes, there will be pictures. I haven’t taken very many. I will be taking more tomorrow. There have been many flashes around and about however. Brendon is jealous that I can tell various attendees how absolutely wonderful their boobs outfits were, while he doesn’t feel comfortable doing so. Also, I have not looked at any of the pictures yet, because, duh, seeing it in person. I am very much looking forward to seeing them all when I get home.

Last note… the bartender spent much of the evening on his cell phone. No doubt telling his friends that this was the foamiest gathering he had ever seen. I’ll repeat his comments to Brendon tomorrow.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Just got home and I wanted to tell everyone thank you for doing your damndest to keep my mind off of things. I'm glad I decided to come. The Buffistas are good for the soul. It was an appropriate affirmation of life.

Thank you also to everyone for the hugs. They were much needed and very much appreciated. This is why it has taken me little time to embrace this community. *sniff* You are good people.

Time for bed. More details in the morning.

Swouncing

Loving the descriptions, loving it that everybody seems to have such a fabulous time and then some, loving that people took the bother of sharing this fun, inthe middle of it all.

I'm collecting the pictures links, and will post then either in Press or in my town, as you prefer - I have a list of links, anyway. Just let me know.

SA, it's amazing that you actually managed to post pictures from the Prom already! I have my guesses as to who is who from the people who hadn't posted pictures (or not many of them) in the past, but I can't wait for the captioning t /greedy

I remember that last year, it seemed like the F2F pictures-taking-attendants tried to cover as many bases as possible, with the quick posting of captions-less pictures (much like this year's ND and SA) and later with detailed-captioned ones. I'm pretty sure that this is what will turn out this year, as well. You guys ar the bestest.

[Edit: Also, for some reason, I can't open the slideshow to ND's pictures, so all I can see are the little thumbnails, and I can't even begin to guess who is who in those tiny ones, even with the captioning (the slideshow opens on former pictures-pages linked on that page, so I don't think it's a 100% problem of my computer alone, but I have no idea what's causing it - I'm just being picture-whiney on top of the greedy, so I'll stop now).]

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

t gronk Waking up here, trying to gather the will to function after a night to remember. I faded around 1 AM with dancing still going strong, I'm sure that the fun continued! So many wonderful people, so little time to take them all in. Just wait until you see the pictures, people!

Soon, shower and then I'll mosey out in search of food & companionship... maybe vids in the hospitality suite? We'll see. I wonder if people would be interested in going over to the nearby theatre at Union Station to see Van Helsing, which sounds to me like it would really be a good group!snark. So many possibilities before The End....
