Beverly and I are heading down in a few minutes, and hopefully will be down there in time for the Zoo trip.
In other news, I am all verklempt thanks to the blanket that Trudy made for me. It is a lovely, lovely blue linen wrap with a picture of my house! There is also a teeny applique of Jeeves that is going to be sewn on in the location of my choice (on the front steps, as if making one of his little breaks for freedom).
Last night, a smallish group of us (me, Beverly, vw, Emily, Sheryl, DX, and Billytea) went out to dinner at an Irish pub near Union Station. Our waiter, who sounded as if he was from New York by way of Texas, kept trying to speak with an Oirish accent that made David Boreanaz's sound like a work of genius.
Morning, F2Fers!
Leaving for the airport in about 10 minutes. See you all soon!
I'm up and actually fairly rested. I'll let the Zoo-trippy people know that Anne is joining, though she may well end up joining us at the Zoo, I suppose....
My laptop absolutely refuses to cooperate with the hotel network -- it connects but won't actually tranmit or receive packets. So I am having to resort to dialup, which feels not unlike banging rocks together to make fire, while all the cool cavekids have matches.
Morning.
Need to hook up with Bev. Kristin being met in lobby around three.
So jealous - want to go to the zoo, want to hang out and chat with buffistas in person.
Morning is here, and I'm waiting for my little coffee pot to make some hot water for tea. And it sounds like it's just about done.
Was up very late last night, though not as late as kilt!man. ND has already had at least person get off an elevator rather than ride up with him.
Also, there is another group staying here, a Baptist youth group from Texas. (Heh...)
Morning.
I think I slept too late for the zoo trip. Will people be in the hosp. suite if I get there around 11:30?
DX -- wasn't there some church group staying at the hotel in Evanston for the first f2f?
Was there something similar in L.A.?
I'm having the same connection problem as Theodosia. I have tried logical problem solving and random changes of connection settings to no avail.
I was not all that late last night, but that pesky "I actually live in Eastern time" thing caught up with me. I was happy to meet all the Buffistas, who were, indeed, all foamy.
I have drunk all the coffee from the room's coffee pot. I must go forth in search of breakfast and an expedition for the day.
