Our wings are not tired

So I'm trying to get things rolling on collecting money for Prom and there's been some discussion of whether $20/person will cover things. We've got two weeks until the F2F, so we need to get this ironed out, pretty much NOW, not in a few days, or a week, we need to get this taken care of.

From what I can see we've got 65 people signed up, at $20/person that's $1300. We need to buy $800 in food from the hotel, and we need to rent the AV at $150. We also need to pay for the bartender to serve us drinks, be we're paying for the drinks themselves. Do we have a number on how much the bartender is? Hopefully much much less than $350.

Where are we on this folks? What am I missing in the "We have to pay for it" department?

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Don't know, ND. I'm just waiting for someone to give me a total so I can find it, budget it, and send it.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

It's possible that a TV is not included in the Penthouse suite. One would hope that it is, but Java didn't know. I meant to call and ask earlier today, but things got busy at work and I forgot. I just tried calling and everyone's left for the weekend, so I'll have to try again Monday.

Anyway, if it isn't, we'll need to pay extra for it and it may cost upwards of $125/day.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

As I recall, the bartender was $75 for three hours, $25/hour thereafter. Probably the tax/service fee that seems to be added to everything is on top of that.

Okay, so we're wondering about a TV. One would hope that one is there. If it's $125/day we'll end up paying more for the TV in the room than the whole room is costing for the weekend.

Right now, barring a TV rental, it seems like $20 is the right figure.

To rent a TV? Why on earth? Jeez, you can buy a new one, 27" colour, for $169 at Costco.

Let's say we keep the Bartender for 6 hours, that's $150, we've still got $200 left after that.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Though probably the odd overage, here and there, from those that found some change under the cushions, wouldn't be frowned upon?

Yeah, if it comes to that, free tv for some lucky localista.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I'm sorry - we're paying WHAT for the penthouse and it might not come with a TV? And if it doesn't we'd have to rent it? First of all, with the amount we're spending over the weekend, they can throw it in. If not, I'm sure a localista would be willing to bring a TV from home.
