Zoe: So you two were kissin'? Book: Well. Isn't that... special?

'Our Mrs. Reynolds'

F2F 2: Is there anybody here that hasn't slept together?

Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: New Orleans! May 20-22, 2005!

I may have to seize the cat.

Rasputina! and more Rasputina! And Yet More Rasputina!

Darling Violetta is good to dance to, the faster stuff.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Deborah, I in no way meant to disparage your leather (would never!). I was simply expressing solidarity in the fear of standing out due to more-ball-gown-than-most-people.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Hee! Not to worry. I actually spent some time online this morning, looking for something fancier to wear, just for the fun of it.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

This I'd love to see.

I have a dress from torrid I quite like, that I might wear to the prom. More of a day dress, really, but I don't forsee lugging formal wear around when I'm going to Chicago immediately after.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

In all likelihood I shall be wearing one of Anne's bedsheets to prom. And a tiara. Unless she objects to the misuse of her linen, in which case I'll stop at a Family Dollar for a disposable tablecloth or sommat.

Kidding! But I refuse to stress about dress. I will be more than adequately covered to avoid offense, and I will be be-diademed. Other than that, not too worried about it. Wanna meet the pretty peeples, not their clothes.

Not javachik

(Also, re: food for prom. Does the $800 include the bartender's fee, or is that additional? How soon do we need to order?)

No, does not include the bartender, which is additional. How soon? You'll have to call the hotel. The catering mgr. #s were on that thing with the menu that I forwarded (via email). I have to run right now; I'll edit and post it later too.

Wanna meet the pretty peeples, not their clothes.

My socks are pouting and threatening to stay home.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

This comes up every year, huh?

The logic of the dressing up is so evident at the F2Fs, but maybe it isn't so obvious without the carnivalesque atmosphere of an F2F actually happening. People do it because it's fun. Because it's a bit of role-playing. Because everybody looks foamy when they're tarted up. Because you can wear things you can't wear anywhere else.

If you don't want to dress up it isn't an issue. It's fine. The dressing up is an opportunity to play. There's a certain giddy vibe at an F2F which seems to promote this kind of activity.

If you're not used to getting glammed up - there are innumerable volunteers willing to help with makeup and clothes. This is also fun.

It's fun - it's not stressful. Don't Stress About It!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Don't Stress About It!

Well, I wasn't, but now all the exclamation marks have scared me.

Pfft. I saw you all dressed up on Halloween, lurking under trees with Teppy and Juliana, sneaking smokes.
