Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"?
Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn.
Aragorn: I like "Strider."
Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".
A discussion of Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. If you're a pervy hobbit fancier, this is the place for you.
Yes -- #1 didn't happen. What I have heard is that what we get is the big confrontation between
Gandalf and the Witch-King on the walls of Minas Tirith.
I was looking at TORN's high rez pictures from the EE and came up with these extended or new scenes:
1.
Return to Edoras - extended
2.
Eowyn's Dream - new
3.
Minas Tirith - extended
4.
The Decline of Gondor - new
5.
The Corsairs of Umbar - new
6.
Merry's Simple Courage - new
And this was just in the three pictures of the scene selection pages that they had pictures of.
Oh, yes, the scene in all the previews that they pulled. I'm looking forward to that.
Want.
Want so bad I'm actually dreaming about the damn movie.
Okay, I'm planning on taking a road trip this weekend and given last weekend's road trip I realized that I needed to have a scene listing and a track listing with me while we have the LotR soundtrack on. (Sad, I know -- but I figure that you guys understand.)
On my listing of the RotK scenes:
the Return to Edoras scene is #4, on the TORN website photo of the scene selection page for the EE, it is #5. Therefore -- new scene very early on.
You get down to "Shelob's Lair" and it's scene 29 on the theatrical and scene 38 on the EE. So there are five additional scenes listed on the EE that weren't in the pictures on TORN. (This is prior to new scene
39 Merry's Simple Courage.
)
Hey, according to TORN today is Viggo Mortensen's birthday!
One of the scenes I'm most hoping to see is
the shot of Eomer from the trailer, cradling someone's (Eowyn's?) head on the battlefield and crying. Gives me shivers.
There's a great article in this month's issue of
Premiere
with pictures by Viggo of some of the cast & crew. I don't know if it's online or not.
I'm hoping for that scene too and Kate --
it's in the promo at the official movie site.
It's one of Eomer's big moments.
Beathen's #1 is going to be included as an "abandoned concept," so they'll probably have an animatic of it.
I think the early scene that sumi referenced is after the opening scene with Frodo and Sam, when they
see the statue of the king, with the statue's head crowned in a wreath of flowers
--this is probably where they'll move the title card.
In celebration of the upcoming ROTKEE release, I give you a very funny picture from this year's Oscar red carpet!
That pic is hilarious! I made it my desktop picture.
