LotR Exhibit Coming to Indiana!!!
Middle Earth is coming to the Midwest -- though it's going to take awhile to arrive.
Indiana State Museum officials announced Thursday that the museum will open "The Lord of the Rings Motion Picture Trilogy -- The Exhibition" on Oct. 6, 2005. The touring show features original costumes, jewelry and hundreds of other props, as well as activities based on the blockbuster film series.
"This opportunity fulfills the promise of our new facility," said John Herbst, the museum's president and CEO, "to bring the best of what the museum world has to offer to the citizens of Indiana."
Organized by the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and New Line Productions, the exhibit will be at the State Museum through Dec. 31, 2005.
Timed tickets will go on sale next summer. For more information, go to www.indianamuseum. org or call (317) 232-1637.

eekfrenzy writes: I just came back from the Houston Museum of Natural Science, where to my delight I found out that the Lord of the Rings Exhibit will be shown in summer 2005. Apparently Boston isn't the only US stop! The Houston Museum of Natural Science web pages do not yet have the exhibit listed, but I verified it with several Museum workers.
So, my advice to you -t is to stop by the museum and see if they are still advertising it.
