Does anyone have a rec for a good LotR screensaver (for Windows)?
LotR - The Return of the King: "We named the *dog* 'Strider'".
Frodo: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Aragorn"? Elrond: That's his name. Aragorn, son of Arathorn. Aragorn: I like "Strider." Elrond: We named the *dog* "Strider".

My favorite screensaver is the one I have at work -- it's a file of LotR photos I've nabbed from everywhere. I have Windows 2000 at work and can do that. I'd forgotten that you can't do that with '98 and was distraught when I went to set my screensaver on my home 'puter.
That must be an addon. Mine don't do that.
Really? I can't believe that the university would do anything but the most basic. . . well, unless they got some huge deal for the many many 'puters they buy all at once.
Watched RotK on Saturday night. Pippin made me cry again. He needs to stop doing that.
But something I noticed on the small screen that I didn't on the big was the very subtle, final transformation from Smeagol to Gollum in the prologue. All 3 of us pointed and said, "HEY!!"
Yeah, Aimee, it took my third or fourth theater viewing before I caught it, and then I had to see it another time to make sure. It was very subtle, as you say, but affecting nonetheless. PJ is a sneaky storyteller, isn't he?
Sneaky bastard he is.
I was watching the extended versions over the weekend, and listened to the director/writers commentary, and I must say that I'd love to see them do a chronological cut of the trilogy. I was thinking about it, and they could still do the Galadriel narration, but when she gets to "It snared a new bearer," they could cut to the Smeagol/Deagol prologue from RotK, and then cut back to the narration when Gollum says, "My Precious" at the end.
Oh, where his eyes change? I love that bit. I noticed it first time 'round too. t /proud
edit: referring to the prologue
I noticed it first time 'round too.
Oh yeah! Well, I watched the DVD of RotK AT HOME!
I never notice anything. :)
